Thumbs up need advice in preparation for my brz

hey everyone,

i plan to get my brz this april. im dying to drive it. hurry up april. anyways, here are my plans/concerns in preparation to get the car:

> should i start asking for price quotes at nearby dealerships this january?

> down payment goal - 8k. so far, im halfway there

> i already got a dashcam. for security purposes when the car is parked and im out grocery shopping and whatnot. im sure im not the only one here that goes nuts when someone or something gets too close to their car

> i need suggestions on a surveillance kit. i live in an apartment complex. so no garage im putting a car cover on it

> when should i ask car insurance companies for a price quote? my current car insurance ends in april

> when should i ask around for car loan APR quote and all that?

> i graduated last year in spring. im hoping i get a newly grad deal or something

any advice will be appreciated

Watched it. Thanks @Kwisak
I feel that I'm going to need more than 2 weeks to get a brz tho. Haha. Hopefully I will get it by my target date.

More time the better, I started to look for my wife's car 4 months in advance. I just like the points he has, always walk out and do competitive bidding.

Yea the guy pointed out some good tips. Also, my dad used to be a car salesman. So he gave me some tips as well. Unfortunately he's on the other side of the country so he can't do my biddings for me.

No target dates - if you are looking for the best deal, don't back yourself into a corner.

Let them back themselves into a corner.

Your best approach is to say: "I'll start shopping for a car on xxxx date" instead of "I need a car by xxxx date". See the completely different takes on that? It will affect what you do.

1st Path will make you do homework, scout, research and prep for the the BEGINNING of something.

2nd Path will make you ansy, rush, and "OMGWTFBBQ GET IT OVER WITH" which is classic END OF THE WORLD mentality. Poor way to attack a problem.

Good luck - don't rush it. This will likely be your 2nd or 3rd most expensive purchase in a while, so don't mess it up.

Scion offers a $750 rebate for former students less than 2 years out of school.

Sorry I didn't know how set you were the BRZ, yes it is Scion only. Here is a link to the Subaru College Graduate Program.

edit: I might have to steal your name for a vanity plate.

@calidus yea Subaru college grad program doesn't sound very good. Correct me if I'm wrong but I mean I'll be establishing a credit regardless since I'm getting a loan.

Also, ur welcome for the name lol. Unless u live in PA. Haha

Subaru does they just may not know it. You are in PA. You know what is going on right now? Snow and ice. Which means dealers are sitting on BRZ's and FRS's. They can't sell them. Scion will not negotiate on price. Subaru will to move them. Don't wait. Go shopping now and don't accept anything on a Limited unless it's $27,000 out the door or less. You're welcome.

When I was looking at FRS vs BRZ, the Scion dealer was able to go below *Pure Pricing* on 2013 models because the 2014 had been released. Right now seems to be really good time to buy a 2013 BRZ or FRS. Dealers want to move the 2013s off the lot and selling a rear wheel drive sports car in January seems to be difficult.

edit: I had to show them a quote for a BRZ first
