Tomei UEL Header and Overpipe Review

I went today to Miami Performance Inc, to install my Tomei UEL header and Overpipe. The install went smooth, Jack which was doing the installation and happens to own an FR-S and was extremely impressed with the quality of the header and overpipe. The fitment was spot on and cleared everything perfectly fine with plenty of space. I had a great experience at the shop and it's my preferred shop to have work done on my car from now on.

Initial driving impressions were more or less what I was expecting. In combination with the OFT Stage 2, the torque dip is a thing of the past. The car feels very linear. The power gains are not night and day but Jack definitely felt that my car with the bolt-ons accelerated faster which I felt the same as well. My Zeta Catback and stock front pipe along with the header to my ears is the perfect combination of sporty/performance oriented sound. No rasp, and barely any drone inside the cabin.

OFT what can I say. Smooth flashing process and phenomenal support and power gains, of course.
What else can I say, if you want a quality header and overpipe, Tomei is the way to go. Jack is even considering buying one after driving my car and hearing the sound.

Shout outs to Shiv at Openflash for an amazing product, Tomei for building such a high quality product at the right price, and of course at Jack with Miami Performance for gaining my trust and doing such a great job at the install and support.

Stay put for my upcoming video.

Update!!! Below is a video of in-cabin driving and one WOT run.

No problem. I'm going to make another video of how it sounds outside and drive by. The header is superb quality and fitment.

Dude you haven't even experienced the full gains yet haha with the OFT it will take a few drive cycles or around 2-3 days to really feel the KICK! make sure you have he new 2.0 maps and also patience as Everytime you start her up she's gunna pull harder and harder !

To put it on bottom of engine/on oil pan, to lessen oil temps by heatsoak from radiated heat by header.

what would happen if I did not do this? would the heat really be potentially damaging to the car?

In stock form these cars run on the hotter side compared to other cars, so it depends what your going to do with the car.

If its just a daily with the occasional mountain or twisty drive and you don't use the heat shield then it wont do much. Although, if you track the car at all then it will raise your oil temps and that will hurt quite a few sensors and controllers in the engine over time.

For me, no matter what I use the car for, I would use it just to be on the safe side. Its just a simple install; hold it up there to size it up, cut it need be, remove backing, then stick it on.

Nope. And many run aftermarket headers without any extra heat shielding/wrapping/coating. For serious tracking imho it's worth installing full oil cooling solution anyway. But it's for free in set, why not use it, even if gains are slight?

Are you able to re-install the undertray that covers the bottom of the engine after installing the header?

Yes, They don't really hangout much lower than the stock ones.

Yes, the tech installed mine also with no clearance issues. He also installed the thermal wrap on the oil pan.
