You'll be just fine. Stop worrying about rust on rotors. As long as you don't leave the poor car to just sit and rot, all is well.

I see your post has drawn some straight answers and some "jest ah messen wich ya" answers. After reviewing your threads and posts on this forum, I believe your question/concern is honest. I suggest you just relax a bit as far as your new car purchase is concerned. Take it from an elder, life is too short to get your panties all bunched up about things that you have little or no control over. Now, what I suggest is that if you have a question about your new car, it's OK to post the question, but for heavens sake, just go with the first straight response. If the first response is not straight, ol humfrz (or someone) will the smart ass that gave it to you. Meanwhile, while you are getting your head around the care and feeding of your new machine, feel free to PM ol humfrz with your questions - humfrz |

I think some of y'all are being a bit obtuse. I can grasp the concept from an aesthetics point of view; we do so much else to make our cars look nice. People (not me) spend HOURS clay-barring, waxing, ceramic-coating. If you have a nice set of open wheels, I imagine it could be a bummer to see rusty disks behind them. It obviously does come off in a matter of seconds when driving, but still.
If that's something that really bothers the OP then install carbon-ceramic brakes. |

Yes the cast iron disk brake rotors will rust almost instantaneously after rain, going through a puddle, or washing your car.
I had a national award winning show hot rod that I liked to drive (a 1955 Chevy pickup). The front disks used stock 70's era GM disk brakes. When building the vehicle, we had the new rotors "Jet-Hot" coated (aluminum/ceramic coating used on headers). Then the rubbing surface of the rotors was machined to take off the coating. The rest of the rotor (inner venting, edges, hat, etc.) remained coated and never rusted. The machined rubbing surface was "cleaned" by using the brakes. Stayed good looking for the 16 years since I restored his beauty and was still show quality when I sold it last summer. Doug |

Why is it colder at night? Wouldn't it be better if it was just as warm at night as it was in the day when the sun is out?
It is bit heart breaking thou :-( |
