I predict a ~24k MSRP +/- $500 bucks depending on how the Yen swings this year.
That sounds good for a base price -- although I wouldn't mind paying 30K or more for a loaded (boosted!?) one.

Hell, whether or not I end up buying one, I just want to test drive this thing already

That's fine -- I still see this thing as having the potential (with boost?) to compete with the 370Z. Lighter, better handling and braking -- it can do it with less power.

I'm in bed with the Z, but fantasizing about the FT-86

Meh, say it a million more and it will still be repeating like a broken record.

I would guess closer to $25k since the price quoted is 2.5mil yen. But based on those numbers you posted MatadorRacing, it could be closer to $21k. That would be a pleasant surprise.

Looks like I'm waiting for the baby FT for certain.
At least we finally we have an release date .

I say 23K is more realistic. They don't want FT-86 to hurt tC sale, so they need to up the price of FT-86 to differentiate tC from FT-86.

Hopefully it gets priced to compete with the 2.0T Genesis Coupe, so I think we can expect a sub-24k price tag.

Oh I agree. And that it would. circa $30k for a loaded, boosted model is more than fair. In fact, I'd go as far as saying that it'd obliterate the Z on a track.

My math says $24k, but I wouldn't have a problem with $21k.

$24k +/- $500 is $23,500 - $24,500 .....

Lets start a bet on the FT-86 starting price (regular NA base model, no stripped track version or turbo version or Gs).

p.s. I think the tC is a fairly different target market, but... maybe, who knows.

Dealer mark-ups on this model will be super high, especially if it lands below $28K or so.
After hearing about the engine in today's news it looks like it's worth every penny.

I don't know how Toyota can discontinue all sporty/sports car models because "they don't sell" then allow dealers to mark up their new sports car anticipating good sales.

I don't think "they don't sell" isn't the main reason why Toyota discontinues all the sports car. Some reason might be Emissions, other one could be Safety and lists just goes on
