Looks too rice boy to me to be honest. The black side skirts and that rear wing look kinda too much.

I'm looking forward to TRD's answer. I'm not expecting more engine power from either side of the fence, but I do want something more sophisticated / mature looking.

Edit: Just to clarify yea some markets have seen a TRD version, but not in Australia as propper model yet. Also while I'm at it, I can't laugh hard enough at that speedo given the majority of the speed zones here in suburbian Australia are 50km/h and then 40km/h at school zones so just imagine how much of that analog speedo's display area gets used. Happy theres a digital speedo. So way more useful.

I cannot make up my mind if I would buy one over a base model or not if it were here in USDM.... Hmmm.

and nothing of value was gained

on the one hand this is a joke, this is as much an upgrade as me putting on black underwear instead of white

on the other hand my pride as a first-adopter is maintained.. at least for the next little while.

Initially, I was going to say wow its overpriced for a "cost-friendly" car. But it's not like it's going to be an option at the dealership so actually doesn't bother me. Overall, it's a pretty cool package, but not quite what I expected (no I didn't expect power). Love the seats and small trim changes like the white dash etc.

and IMO, the only reason I'd ever want more power is just so I can go faster entering/exiting turns. Thats where all the fun is

so the brz sti vs a stock brz premium in a drag race should lose. i think the sti weighs more. we know it will out handle the stock brz tho.

when i hear sti or trd or saleen or anything like that i think more power, handling, styling

they left out one thing... power... fail

thats sad that the sti would lose a drag race vs the base model $10,000 cheaper. they couldnt throw in an intake for $10,000?

whatever. i thought id be pissed off when the sti came out but im not cause its nothing special. slap 600 bucks of parts on a base brz it will eat the sti lol

Let me repeat. This is not a BRZ STI. It's a BRZ tS.

Also, the tS will probably be faster in drag race because it comes with vastly superior tires (Michelin Pilot Super Sports).

Those are Japanese prices, but I can't see anyone paying that much for a 200hp car with some catalog bolt ons.

woudln't put too much money on that..

tire for tire, brake-pad for brake-pad, i don't see the sti version being all that better around a track.

The stiffer springs and upgradedbushings might give typical driver more confidence to tackle turns at a higherspeed, but for seasoned drivers the difference will be minimal.

Because the car isRWD and already came with a good LSD, there is little for Subaru to do.. unlikeit’s WRXàSTI transitions where theupgraded central diff and rear diff were the major “upgrades” that trulytransformed the car.

Your annalogy is flawed...a sport package doesnt mean more power...this isnt a drag car....FFS if you think it is your mistaken. Roush Mustangs for example are cosmetic and suspension up to the stage 2 and stage 3 adds a SC....not everything needs to be about power adders...making the car handle better? From what we get stock is amazing.
