Just don't try a control freak start on "shell grip" and try and meter your torque with the clutch.

Control freak start: Hold 5k rpm. Simultaneously bite the clutch hard and floor it. Feather the clutch to get only the slightest "peep peep" of wheel spin and not light them up and maintain 5k rpm until the road speed catches up. The theory is ... you are holding the engine near peak power through the whole launch.

"Shell grip" is that stuff they put at junctions where they crush up sea shells and stick it to the road surface, like driving on sand paper.

The combination of very high grip surface and trying to get max torque through the clutch....

It's an interesting launch, but you would be better off burning the excess torque by spinning the wheels. I did this once, then I was greeted by the smell of clutch and decided it's probably only something to try once.

Then the OP is a bell end.

(kidding)

(If you have to add "kidding" it was probably a bit harsh.)

Don't "launch" in an automatic, and don't do burnouts. You'll wreck your Prius tires.

I wish you could see the way I beat these up. I have new wheels but I'm just trying to kill these before I let them go

Hey guys! Finally figured how to do this!
I disabled traction control and VSC. You have to hold the break for about 5 seconds and be stopped before you do it, or the car will automatically go into smart stop mode. Thanks for everybodys help!

The guy who responded to you is 1000x correct, it was the inability of the dumb ass doctor in a Prius and the woman in a Toyota sienna who thought he/she was an awesome driver and would never ever hit the wrong pedal another case was that she had an obstruction and had moved the carpets underneath the pedals and they held the gas pedal down....

1) Your highlander did not get a firmware update so that "it could only rev to around 2k with the brake on" thats either a rev limiter , panic braking, or simply that a shit highlander doesn't need a stall converter past 2k or the general fact your pressing down the freaking brakes at the same time as throttling forward.....
2)"The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration never found defects in electronics or software in Toyota cars, which had been targeted as a possible cause by many, including some experts."
3) They did get sued but they paid there dues anyway so the cars could be idiot proof.

Bottom line @Sammakko Knows his shit and you don't

Rant over
