They are used for a couple reasons. One being that with these rails you can make your own fuel system whether that is the OEM non-return or should you get to a level where you need to be a return system. Two being you can run the ports in series or parallel feed. Three being the bores are larger for more volume assuming you have also increased your volume capabilities via pump/lines. Four being they look cool and you likely drop the extra few pounds of the OEM rail crash cages. Five being you can easily add a fuel pressure gauge underhood or in cabin. Six you can add a fuel pressure regulator should you need/want and have gone return.
