(It might also be the air-shutting-off under load thing that's doing it. Maybe I should have less foot on pedal?)
I thought the same thing. I happened to pick my FR-S up in Chicago during a heat wave. It was 100 degrees outside. I thought the A/C sucked. I read the manual then found out that if you have the circulation button pressed (i.e. the button that circulates the air IN THE CAR) it worked fantastically. Have you tried that?

Significantly less drink-trash and I'm learning how to get out without looking silly.
Door bottle holders FTW! Seriously. First, they force you to get drinks with caps on them, second, they are easy to reach

Tell me about it. I'm too busy driving the car now to even bother with drinks, though.

Yeah, I always use it. It says on the knob even that that's the maximum setting. It helps, but it still has issues some days. Like I said though, it may just be because it shuts off under load.

1) cricket engine noise
2) lack of arm rest
3) ride height
4) ugly stock wheels

(3 & 4 will be fixed by the end of the week when I get my suspension & wheels all put on)

Dang! I was hoping to provide someone with a quick fix! Though, I imagine it gets a bit warmer in Kentucky than in Chicago.

CHIRP CHITTER CHEEEP

Took car in for service on September 24th to address/correct the “chirping” sounds made by the faulty fuel pump when the engine was warmed up and at low idle.
I was told by the dealer that this was a normal sound; there was no way to eliminate it.
I was not satisfied by this reply so I wrote to Scion and complained. On September 25th, I was told by Scion that they were aware of the problem, there was a replacement pump that eliminated the chirps, and that a new pump would be installed in my car.
On September 26th, I was contacted by Scion again, only to tell me that the pump in my car was the revised pump (revised to eliminate the chirps) and that while it too chirped, that noise was now considered to be “normal”.
The noise is so distracting that I cannot drive with the windows down or without the radio on. A simple stop at a red light is simply embarrassing as my car chirps away. The chirping is now occurring at low speeds and no idle.
If the noise was normal, it would have been present when I purchased the vehicle. If the noise was normal, there would not have been a service bulletin and replacement part.
Calling it “normal” is not the sort of repair I expect from Toyota.

I've been told that a fuel additive might remedy this.

We will keep you posted.

Also let's not forget that it is cooled in the front of the car, if you're blasting it with 100 degree wind it's not going to be as effective

I have a BRZ. I think the seat heater buttons could have been placed in a more discrete location. Middle of the console right behind the shifter places them in a very visible and prominent location. Many of us will only use them for a few months out of the year and in other parts of the country they will never/hardly ever be used.

In the future I may attempt to relocate them to the cup holder area. I have installed a cover from JDM so they would be completely hidden. Of course if would be helpful if one of the companies out there would make a "Seat heater Button relocation kit" Hint, hint

Might have to sell those kids!
