@Tcoat signaled me that you were coming from a miata(s) and looking at a BRZ. I owned and drove an NC for eight years and 88,000 touring miles. Why did I trade it in for a FR-S .. ?? mrs humfrz in her late 60's and I'm in my 70's, and after touring throughout the Midwest, the west and western Canada, mostly top down, mrs humfrz tired of the "roadster experience". I suppose I brought that on, because I never knew when to put the top up. For example, it was 108 degrees F in St George, Utah, one fine day, when she stated "either put the top up and turn on the AC or drop me off in a air conditioned motel, and you can go drive around and finish cooking your brain". Yep, so I decided to look for a coupe with a bit more room, but I wasn't ready to give up driving a car with the "sports car feel". I have found that the FR-S drives much the same way as the NC did. Advantages: A bit more room in the cabin (more shoulder room, no transmission hump protruding into the passenger footwell, more room behind the front seats to put stuff, a larger trunk - expandable, quieter (because coupe) to allow easier conversation and radio listening. Disadvantages: The top won't go down while driving through places like Yosemite and the California redwoods. So, that's my take on a comparison of the two. humfrz |

Yea it only seems grey when it's really dirty under a bright sunny day. The dark grey paint actually has a hint of metallic blue in it also (I guess for being Subaru).
But the crystal black gets really dark like a 2001 monolith finish especially at night when it's really clean. Some dude at the end of my street has one and it looks amazing. First thing bringing it home for me was removing the "SUBARU" badge with some dental floss and detailer. |

I agree that it would have to come off. You would have to make that part of the deal. Unfortunately, that seems to be the practice of dealers more often than not. They seem to do it with both new and used.

most of the time, when I have bought some of my cars in the past. You can ask them to remove it when you buy the car. If they don't they are total ****s.
I would also make sure they use a plastic took or a adhesive remover or something that wont kill the paint. I've seen some take razor blade on the car. If that's the case return it! my dealer I got my car from used a license plate frame which Im totally ok with since I can remove it when ever.
