Michelins come with a superb warranty, even the MPSS!

That being said, they can tell if the tire has been abused, and will decline coverage subjectively.

Some people have been pretty clear how they feel about the 'stones and BFG's. Not just 86ers or people on this forum mind you.
Its named 'super soft street tire' in 86cup. The 'cheater tire' is tongue-in-cheek.

On a 2900lbs car (race weight, including driver) with moderate aero and 245 wide RS4 the sweet spot was 34psi hot for tracks with lots of low speed turns and 36psi hot for tracks with lots of high speed long turns. 38 psi felt slower grip wise and was slower or equal on the clock (depending on track setup) and 32-30 felt quicker but was way slower (almost a full second slower on some tracks). The tire likes quite a bit of camber (getting even wear at -3.8 up front to give you an idea).

How do you properly heat cycle/bed in re71r for optimal performance?

You can't / don't. You put a new set of RE71R just before the qualifying, run them slowly for half a lap, go full speed thereafter, and make sure that you nail your first or second timed lap. I run in a 10-lap race at Fuji. It will go off after about 7 laps so you nurse them home. The tire will be good for another 4x30min test session, and they can lap maybe 1 - 1.5sec slower than the original qualifying lap, till you go down to the cord. You should do consider two timed laps and a cooling lap, as a typical routine.

This tire is not build to do HPDP 20-30mins sessions straight. The tire was initially targeted to become the fastest street tire, hence was very popular in 86 one-make race (club-man class).

The GAZOO 86 one-make race now do two races in one day, and they run on a set. Let`s hope that this will push the tire suppliers to do something about this situation... I`ve been told that Z3 is very consistent, and only about 1-1.5 sec slower at Fuji (2min / lap track). The sidewall stiffness is quite different, so you may need different camber though. I need less than 3° front camber with V70a, but need much more with RE71R, and probably even more so with Z3.

... and I only use RE71R as my rain / mixed condition race tire. or, you can just use it on the road... after-all, it does have 200 tread-wear rating!

But you know how to manage tires better than most!
