Can't wait to see if they do 'cause I'm ready to get one.

Someone is selling their own FRS louvers for 700$? Been posted on the FB Buy/Sell page. Their quality looks pretty good from the pictures of the ones they have.
These aren't the same ones are they?

I would think they'd have to have one to keep things legal, as in, approved for use on the road..?

They might be able to space them more than TRD to have the brake light line up in between the slats, but not be as large as the mustang ones still. Pure speculation though.

I spoke with MRT last week. They have an engineer who will be designing them as soon as the CAD data arrives from SEMA. No clear ETA guys. I'll keep this post updated as anything comes up.

It wouldn't be as JDM, and the twins don't sell as much as domestics, so i have a feeling that this will be more of a side project for MRT.
Do these serve any purpose? As someone else has mentioned, it looks like a grater, but i buy my cheese sliced.

Yeah but it would help for those people who live in areas with lots of sun like myself. I'd like the extra cover over the rear window to cut down on the sun.

Ah, gotcha. I live in the Florida Keys, and we get a little but of sun here. I'm thinking it's basically a sunshade, like what you would have on your front window, but instead the slots let you see horizontally while blocking vertical light.

Exclamation

Not sure if this is an appropriate thing to link to...

From the FRS/BRZ/GT86 Facebook For Sale group, there's a company in Canada that will be producing a slightly varied version of the TRD Louvers:
FiSiK Aero Rear Window Louver Pre-Order

The owner/operator says they will be producing them in fiberglass or carbon fiber. As these have to be made from scratch, they are looking for a group-buy to help with the initial cost of fabrication. As such, if 10-14 people pre-order, the cost for the fiberglass model will be $650, 15-19: $550, 20+: $500. For the carbon fiber model it starts at $800.

The owner/operator is looking for at least 10 people to pre-order before starting fabrication/production and hopes to have the louvers on or before January (depending on the minimum requirement).

I've joined the Facebook group, but have not handed over any payment as I have yet to see a serious 3D model, only rough sketches and photoshopped TRD parts. Hopefully, as December rolls in, we'll see an actual 3D model.

It's at the price you all are looking for...

If you start a new thread you can link to the Facebook page to show interest I'll put my hat in the ring for a carbon fiber one if they get serious about it. Competition is how products get brought to market. I don't have Facebook to express my personal interests there though.
