PS4. I'm not a massive gamer so I'm gonna wait till it drops price significantly.

Never owned an Xbox, so I might give Xbox one a chance this time. I'll wait until the price drops though.

I really like the cable box idea that they brought to xbox. As long as the gaming on the xbox isn't significantly better than I'm going with the xbox for sure

This round I went 360 over PS3. I don't regret it but there are a lot of exclusives I missed out on. The hardware updates for the Kinect and the controller were the most impressive for me today, really. I don't Skype, don't subscribe to TV (Prime and Netflix, kthx) and am not really big into football, or ESPN in general with the exception of streaming ALMS or other motorsports. Meanwhile, people complained that no hardware was shown at the PS4 announce, but they did show games. And that's what I want to see, primarily. We did see the PS4 controller, and I'm just a bigger fan of the Xbox layout. Left analog on the top just fits my hands better. At this point, it's completely up in the air until E3 comes out. Forza 5 looks great, and as much as I'd love to see a Gran Turismo at launch I'm not holding my breath, and I think Drive Club will be the only racer debuting. Sony also seems to be getting a lot friendlier with indie developers, whereas MS axed XNA. So there's that. Finally, I'm really tired of paying for Xbox Live. Yes, they're the leading unified service, and for a long time there it was the best way to go. But Sony and now even Nintendo have caught up. And Microsoft slapped ads on every goddamn page. I'll do it if I have to, especially when the 12+1 month cards go on sale for 30 bucks, but I won't be happy about it. |

Having never owned an xbox (not because of fanboyism, but due to preference for PS exclusives) I really liked all the cool features they showed off today. Some people refer to them as gimmicks and think a console system should play games and nothing else, but I think that having technology like what MS is trying to offer enter homes en mass, through something like an everyday game console, is what leads to the big changes that technology can create.
Having said that, I soon remembered that xbox makes you pay for online and from what I was hearing this stuff is only gonna make that cost more. My policy is the less bills in my life the better. So maybe I'll stay with PS again, but who knows, things can change.

I pay $35 for 12mo for online service...for most people it doesn't put a dent in peoples wallets even those that pay $60 annually.
The way i see it its like taxes, some who dont pay taxes but complain about their roads and neighborhoods looking like shit. Then there are people who complain about paying taxes but live in a very aesthetically pleasing place. I think the annual fee for live is priced very well, and it helps to know that some of that money actually goes to maintaining and evolving good online services. Something that PSN has had issues with in providing a robust online experience off gaming. I like the new xbox because it does more than just game. All my hardcore gaming needs are fufilled via PC. But the PC does not fill my media needs and simplicity especially with my family and placed in the living room. Iv recently built a small media center PC for the living room, and honestly id rather ditch it and get a xbox one.

Dont forget which online service got hacked and all those emails, passwords, and personal billing info leaked all over the internet... Even if thats the ONLY benefit of the 60$ a year service, i feel it was well spent. 5$ a month to people discussing spending 600$ for a console and 60$ for each game... Iono

All things aside, I think you'll find a majority of xbox one buyers will be xbox 360 owners. Likewise, the majority of PS4 buyers will be prior PS3 owners. I think the true test of a consoles success is the ability to convert people from the other team.
I heard the xbox has a non-removable hard drive... is that true? |

I'm not saying that it's going to necessarily be that way for the new console. That's how it is now with current xbox games. Every game has some "downloadable content" that back in the old days of original xbox used to be free, but now they charge for it. I was just simply saying that I wanted them to go back to including the downloadable content in the price of the original purchase.
