Toyota logo instead of Scion on the Airbag? YES please :)

Did what i wanted to do from the first day i got my FRS I aint wanted 86 airbag cuz its expensive - and to be honest - looks worse then FRS / SUbaru one - cuz logo is just pressed in instead of normal one...

Soooooooooo

I jumped to my local junkyard - and cut Toyota logo from Toyota Corolla airbab along with background. Got home - removed it from the plastic / rubber background - and found out that Scion logo is smaller then Toyota sign... Hmmmm

I removed Scion logo from airbag, and started cleaning place for the new logo background. Used my dremel with sanding head to clean out all the unesesary plastic, and to make surface clean and flat.

After sanding down scion logo background - it was time to trim down Toyota logo back cuz it was a bit too thick. So sanded it down as thin as posible to make new Toyota logo sit flush with the surface.

Sanded Toyota back as flat and thin as posible:

Once got everything even and flush - used some superglue to glue backround in place.

Once background is glued - i did the same with the Toyota logo Its sitting nice and flush now.

All the work took me like 30 min And its well worth it over buing 86 airbag

Will get better pics once i put back my interior:

By cover what do you mean? Airbag it self is pretty easy to take out, but removing Scion logo is another story...

Flat screwdriver (thin) lift one end of the badge - and use sharp knife to cut 'legs' that are on the sign Badge is rubber like - so its easy to cut all those 'legs'...

What sort of glue did you use? My only concern would be 1. Having a toyota emblem embedded in my head in the vent of an accident. 2. It falling off while I am cruising around with someone and be that cheap guy

If the above questions or answered I am totally doing this.

Airbag - once deploing - is ripping apart and piece with the logo ussualy folds down, so even if the logo flyes off - more of the chance to find it in your pants pockets Glue im using - is hard to rip off with screw driver or plies... So... As airbag cover / logo pads are made from rubber like plastic - there are lots of options for the glue to use on them, as im located in different country - it would be hard for me to recomend something...

Could you show how you pull the Cover off the steering wheel. I just don't want to bust any clips, or rip something as I am trying to unseat it.

Looks great!
