So I had to do some research to find your answer, which is why im a bit late in replying.
So from what i understand, TRD japan has listed a coilover system for around $3200-$3500. Now you can buy that set separate, meaning struts only or springs only. There are 2 TRD Japan Springs listed with 2 different spring rates, and both work for the TRD struts, and Factory struts. and TRD USA is considering another spring for the north american market. but i have no info on that yet. If i learn anything more it will be posted, thanks! -Josh

It’s interesting though, because I have been doing heaps of research to try and find out with no luck. The springs for use in the coilover system are the same springs for use with stock struts, but TRD doesn’t list the springs rates, nor can I find it anywhere else. They seem to list the 15mm drop, but not the rates. I can’t find any other listings for different springs from TRD? Do you have a link or anything? I am only interested in the TRD JPN stuff, not so much USA because I live in Australia, and also because I Have the TRD JPN springs, just waiting for the coilover shocks to arrive |

Thanks for the lesson on how these changes affect the car's behavior. Looks like the current setups are pretty much the best to get, maybe a tiny bit softer on the Fr-s' rear.
Thx. Andrew & Josh |

so, those of you spring rate guru's for my BRZ. While I am gonna have to wait to allocate budget for coil overs, I would like to throw some springs at it, but looks do not count, i run 17s, for speed, do not care about gap and want the best handling spring setup, I am not a drifter so dont like an overly sprung rear end.
what handles best? I thought the prolines felt drifty, fun, but break the rear way sooner than stock-I drove a frs wioth eibachs, it was nice, but took the same curve with my stock brz, granted on star specs, but the rear just felt firm, in relation to the front on the proline,s and while fun, wasnt sure if it was optimal for grip I'm not well versed at all in choosing suspension rates etc. help welcome, especiually 1st hand experience |

For me it's more that a lot of the springs out there are going too soft up front rather than too stiff in the rear. Sounds like splitting hairs but what I mean is 3k/4.5k for example from a 1.2 inch drop lowering spring is a lot different than 7k/8k from a coilover that actually has some travel and isn't resting on the bumpstops.
At the lower end of the stiffness spectrum, where we are using rates designed for the stock shocks, this car needs additional front roll stiffness more than it needs additional rear roll stiffness. This is magnified even more so when you lower the car. The front roll center drops faster than the rear and the camber curves are different. On top of that, avoiding the (very firm) bumpstops helps us keep handling more consistent and controllable. And ride smoother. Just our perspective. - Andrew |

Looking at GT86 springs vs BRZ. BRZ is softer in the front and stiffer in the rear.
Would think that car had more oversteer in comparison right? But Best Motoring and most reviews have earlier shown the opposite. -So anyone know how the shocks compare? -Are the shocks on the 86 the same as the FR-S? -In terms of balance FR-S = A bit loose, but pretty neutral BRZ = The most stable (and with less oversteer compared to FR-S) GT86 = Something in the middle, or closer to FR-S??? Anyone able to confirm anything without guessing? Are suspension (springs and shocks) the same on BRZ in all countries? What about the the 86? |

DOes anyone know if Ksport is making just like a cup kit springs and struts with fixed spring rate and dampener settings non adjustable? i like coilovers but i dont really need them right this second just want to see what options are available, my friend uses ksport cup kit in his 04 STi it feels really solid and i wont have to go for a corner balance

Just got this rate data from H&R:
rates are not published on their sport line H&R Sport Springs (PN: 54408) lowers the BRZ & FR-S approximately 1” front and 1.2” rear for a great performance look and handling. The H&R Super Sport Springs (PN: 54408-77) lower the chassis approximately 1.2” front and 1.4” rear for a more aggressive stance. H&R Super Sport Springs have all the features of H&R Sport Springs, plus additional lowering – great for the seasoned enthusiast looking for a little more.
