Can SOA change my preorder?

After finding out pricing for the BRZ limited I now want to change my pre-order of a BRZ premium to a limited. I talked to my dealership and they said I would lose my 4th place spot and be put into the 19th spot. I know the car right now is just a number. Can I just call SOA and have them change a # or two around and be good? I'm sure it can be done but I'm wondering if anyone has dealt with this?

Call Subaru Customer Service. Others have lost their spot but maybe calling Subaru directly will help? No idea, sorry man

You are likely going to lose your spot. At this point the car may not be just a number. Subaru said they were going to deliver cars in the order that the sold orders were received from the dealer. If you ordered a premium, there is probably a premium model already slotted into the production schedule and they aren't going to change the production schedule for you.

More than likely the car you ordered will be delivered to the dealership and someone else will either jump up in line to get it or they will sell it to someone off the street.

Let us know how it works out for you as I be curious to know.

Best of luck.

I just gave up and told the dealership to put me on the back of the list. I also told them I will be in Europe for 6 weeks during June-July so if my car comes it better be put into storage until I get back from my trip. I can imagine coming home to find out that they sold my pre-order...

I don't think you have anything to worry about. Its likely not going to arrive by then if you are last.

I was in the same place, but I ended up going to another local dealer who was getting a much bigger allotment. I went from 4th to 8th, but because the second dealer is getting more than twice as many cars a month, I will get my reorder sooner. Ain't that a kick?

Ask for a list of the other pre-orders and see if any limited buyers want to change to a premium.. then you could just flip your spot in line.

only if they want his color and he wants theirs.

I'd be surprised if the dealer handed out a list of the pre-order customers to him anyway. I for one would definitely be upset if the dealership gave out my contact information. Best he can hope for is for the dealership to contact the customers and ask if they would be willing to change, which they are unlikely to do since they probably are excited about the idea of getting a car onto the showroom that hasn't been pre-sold.

I had my order changed both in color and from premium to limited. Doing either one the dealer has to cancel the original order and you will lose your place in line. I only dropped from 2 to 3 but the dealer is only allocated 5 cars so it probably means at least a month delay.

I would maybe take the advice of another poster and look at other dealers with larger allocations.
