Yes much stronger springs,...I assumed that was a given when I mentioned Ferrea's race valve set,...and yes that's where the added noise comes from. They are dual springs per valve (spring in a spring).

Any chance you took a pic of the OEM and Ferrea parts?

Unless you drag race, which to me defeats the purpose. Its a great DD, the valves are noisy,..you can definitely hear them,...it cured my idle dip problem at idle,.. I do feel its an improvement but the dyno didn't show it....AWD tuning in Flower Mound Texas did my build. Cost wise is irrelevant cause I went overkill in a lot of areas.
I have learned more about this cars abilities from your adventures than from everyone else's combined.. Thank you for all the $$$ spent and for sharing the info!

Thanks Mike ,...just trying to be honest about things and share with this community as best I can. During this build I have consulted along the way with the shop doing the build , Ken Stout who's son and team are racing the car, Don at Accelerated, Full Blown through my builder, Crawford and a few others to come to my own conclusions on the directions to go to build the car I want that isn't a ticking time bomb. AWD tuning in Texas has really come through for me and I'm very pleased with the results.

Not sure I would agree that the spring are the cause of the extra noise. We have just released our head package with supertech springs (which have about the same spring rates as the ferret's) We are also testing cams for the FA20 and we did not notice a change in the valve train noise but we do note that it takes a lot of time to set the valve lash on the FA20.
