Before mine gets all scratched up I was thinking about just doing the matte clearcoat plastidip all over to give my stock hot lava a different matte look that i have yet to see.

Thoughts?

On to another subject... I'm deploying soon so I won't get much of a chance to go through with it before hand, but I plan on dipping mine sometime after I return. Haven't decided on color yet. However, I'm really liking this.

plastidip looks like crap imo. Clear bra your hood, bumper, and fenders. I like the idea of plastidip though, but only for small trim pieces.

Will using clear dip on front of the car help from little rocks chipping the front while driving in freeways?

Im always looking way ahead and see if theres like a construction truck thats dropping gravel/rocks..

If you buy the kit from dipyourcar.com it comes with gallons of appropriately thinned Plastic Dip and a sprayer.

@marky if you use the clear dip it won't be as shiny as the rest of the car, it will have a somewhat satiny finish.

I have not done mine yet, but plan too. I have already ordered and received the full gun/kit and 8 gallons of different colors. I am not sure i am going to do my whole car, most likely just the front bumper/clear bra style. And some trim on the sides, lower rocker panels, mirrors, etc..Not really sure yet, but once it warms up a bit more i will be ready to do it. So far just shot my emblems on the rear, and have been real happy with the quality. I got a bunch of different colors as i was planing to shoot my rover as well. Most likely going to use the gunmetal grey with my BRZ and Rover. Got some hot pink and blue for some powerwheels and motorcycles. I also got the red for some possible accent stuff. Excited to try it out, just dont feel like spraying in my garage with the fumes and all.

I would get the 3 scratches fixed now regardless because even if u do go through with plasti dip, the scratches will still be there when u peel off. And those scratches are half the reason u want pd anyway. Get it fixed, it looks good, ull probably forget about pd.
