No kidding!

I probably should have indicated my surprise was that the buyer had apparently been charged not at the time the product shipped, but at the time the order was placed for a product that wasn't going to be shipped until many months later. That's a situation I've not encountered before.

got it, i must admit i really wanted to order some Robispec parts but it seems like receiving the parts is a heck of a hassle, i guess i will shop somewhere else. I think it's sad to see that so many people want to buy something but the seller doesn't really want to sell it... I guess making money isn't in every shop mentality.

I know Joel and he told me there were a few issues that some people that work for him had. They were personal issues that prevented them from getting the parts out. It's unfotunite but when you want to produce the best parts possible you can't just have anyone making them. I know this first hand as everyone just says you should license them out to China but doing that looses quality control so it is better to just deal with the issues as they arise and hope the customer understands.

So I finally started working on these last night. I used this photo as a guide:

That got me pretty far, but now I'm confused about the tapered bolts. I still haven't called him, as I at least wanted to try first. If I could just figure out how these tapered bolts are supposed to be used and where all these specifically-sized spacers go, I would be in great shape.

Has anyone installed these things? Surely anyone who's installed them will know how the bolts are meant to be used.

I can't say which tapered ends go where, but the different sizes are to offset the ends different amounts from the hub itself. This is where your bumpsteer and roll center correction happen. Longer tapers are more correction, shorter tapers are less.

The thinnest part of the bolt, the only section of it that actually fits into the hole, is too short to even poke through the other side of the hole. This is blowing my mind. Clearly I'm doing something way wrong, but I can't figure out what it could be.

Notice how in this shot, you can't even see the bolt sticking through the top:

It's flush, which almost makes it seem like it's supposed to go there since the length of the hole and the length of the non-tapered section of the bolt are exactly the same. But it's definitely useless the way I have it positioned there.

Perhaps those are the tapers for the other arm, ie the tie rod tapers and not the ball joint tapers for roll correction?

I think I tried that. It's been a few days since I've looked at it now, so I'll have to look again.

@robispec I noticed that you are active on the forums today so I'll try to get your attention here as I do not know how else to reach you.

I've been sending you several emails and PMs now since mid February for my item for which I paid back in November last year. I've also left you several voice mails as well.

I am anxiously awaiting your response as I am very concerned about the extreme time delays with the front lower control arm which on the phone in mid February you advise that it was done and getting coated and ready for shipping.

Its now May

Looks like you have the taper bolts swapped. The tapers section needs to go into the hub and right now all you have is the thread section in the hub.

Honestly though, if you don't know what you are doing, you should put the stock stuff back on and take it to a shop that knows how to set this stuff up properly. Suspension work can kill you if you mess it up and it isn't something to be taken lightly or guessed at.

I bought these used, and the taper bolts came as you see them. I was hoping they were already in the right places, having been used and all.
