It's a tonal thing that affects WHERE the exhaust is loud. I've forgotten which one is louder where, but the point is that the offset muffler is a deeper sound that is quieter in a certain RPM range versus the regular muffler.

I emailed Jason asking if they could match the shipping charge from Titan. This was his response:

"I would check to see if you are being quoted the correct shipping charge from Titan. That particular exhaust that they have is only the 3" main circuit version, not the quieter 2.5" main that we had discussed. Either way, Titan will have to place the order with us, and then we will ship it to them who will ship to you. It may end up being quicker to place the order direct.

But like I said, I would make sure that you are getting the correct shipping quote from Titan."

I'm confused.
Isn't the 3" version the "newer" one? He makes it seem like the 3" version is from 1998 or something.
Why would the titan website show one shipping charge, and then charge another?

He's not making it seem like the 3" is older. He is just saying they only have the 3" version, not the 2.5" version which from reading his response seems like the 2.5 is the one you both had talked about and nailed it would be your best choice.

About the shipping charge, it probably is fine and it's correct on the website but it has happened to me that I've quoted a shipping price from a website and then the final order numbers come in and its different.

Here's my order confirmation:

The 3" axleback is their "revised" one which was easier on them to manufacture. The tone and sound is nearly the same. Jason and I spoke and we both believe majority of your loudness will come from what OP/DP you're running. A full 3" system is really LOUD, like ridiculously loud. 3" might even be overkill for this engine, but testing will tell. I went with the 3" axleback because yes, it is newer, and I wanted the larger diameter piping to have available if indeed a 2.5" or 3" mid pipe and new OP/DP produces more power. Just starting with the Axleback.

$60+ shipping to order directly from nameless, or $22 shipping to order from Titan. Once Matt installs his and posts a video (hint hint), if I like that one, ill order from Titan and save myself $40+

I will say that it's quiet @ idle (music for my old ears) & sounds very crisp & clean on rev-up, and not too loud then, either--I'm very pleased so far!
Saved approx ~5 lbs for the axle-back.
I'm hopeful that it will still be relatively quiet when the whole system is in (Header, overpipe & HF cat) @ idle/cruise. Will post that clip as well when all are installed.

Thx to Sportsguy for the recommendation.

Sorry for the terrible quality--forgot I had my phone set on low res.

That is the first production 3" sent to Titan, the customer received it before release (not long ago like two weeks).
