@Monogram why are you drilling this thread so hard?

We dont have the answers you want.
You are not going to change anyones mind about this upgrade since it is a DIY and people here have already bought it.
If you dont buy into it then simply DO NOT BUY IT and stop drilling this thread.

I bought mine, installed it, notice a small difference, and am happy with my purchase.
I dont have hard numbers to give you (its not easy or cheap doing before/after dynos, plus with so many variables it would not be a conclusive set of data anyways) and it looks like no one else does either..

This is a DIY.

Let's keep this thread about the installation process.

If you have questions or comments about the product itself, there is a technical section where you can ask away.

Thank you

One more thing , I have noticed when I had the crank bolt taken off a few times that it was easier to do when the engine was hot . Just a thought.

Man that bolt is a pain in the ass. Wish I could get my impact in there, I tried my electric one and no dice. So far the breaker bar hasn't worked but I will keep at it.

A trick you could use on the WRX was wedge a prybar between the trans inspection hole and the holes in the flywheel, would stop everything from moving 100%. I looked on the BRZ and it doesn't look like that would work.

I ran out of daylight, tomorrow I will just use the 4 foot pipe over the ratchet handle. It has made short work of many bolts.

Hey guys question - I been advised against the crank pulleys, as they miss that rubber compound in between that stock ones have, and thus cause more vibration in the engine making it worse for it.. Is that true or did I hear wrong?

Thanks!

Boxers from my understanding are balanced so no a lightweight pulley should have no negative impact. Have been running a Kartboy on my ride. No issues at all

Correct. Our stock pulley is not a harmonic damper, so the aftermarket ones don't need to be either.

Question for the AT guys looking to do this:

Lets say I put my car in drive - then turn the ignition off, pull the e-brake, and have someone in the car with the brake pedal down.

Surely, the engine and car would not be able to move.

Right?

I bought a light weight pulley set (3 pieces) and when I had to take off the crankshaft pulley, I noticed that, even in park with E Brake up, the pulley still spins freely, causing me to not loosen the bolt. For AT guys, you need to pick up a Crankshaft Pulley Stabilizer tool to hold the OEM camshaft pulley in place.

Here is a picture of "Schley Products, Inc Universal Camshaft Pulley Holding Tool" for what AT people will need to stabilizer the crankshaft pulley for removal. You can find this at Sears or Advanced Auto.

You mean 'CRANK-shaft' pulley right? Picture says Crank-shaft, but what you wrote says cam-shaft 3 times. Suggest correction.

I was referring to what the full name of the tool is and how it is on the website.
