Why do you love the brz or frs ?
Personally I look at it and see a platform for possibly the fastest and most fun thing to drive out now that's still affordable.
What do you guys think? |

These cars are so close to perfect for the purpose it is hard to fault them.
More expensive shocks and struts would have been a good idea and I think this is addressed in the 2015 model year. A little more sound isolation would be nice but that is very heavy stuff. Owners can add some but is is a real nuisance to remove so that was a smart engineering decision. Better tires would have been nice but picking the perfect tire is like picking the perfect girl. The stock tires are actually perfect for the car's intended use: this is a car you can learn how to drive properly without killing yourself before you learn. Ironically, the lower grip stock tires actually help you to learn to drive well but at lower speeds than really good tires would permit and actually require. had Toyota?Subaru fit good tires to begin with you'd have to drive a lot faster to find out just how good this chassis is. Another smart decision. Finally, this car has been overbuilt and can be substantially modified to suit you if you wish. The basic chassis is so close to perfect right out of the box that no improvements are necessary. However, for the discerning or the driver with a particular result in mind you can change out the springs, dampers, struts and roll bars to your heart's content and fairly cheaply because the actual assembly of this car is so well thought out and cheap to maintain. Bolt on cheap power is readily available through turbo or supercharger kits and the engine will put out without other mods as will the drivetrain. Heck, even the brakes are pretty darn good right out of the box. Only harder pads are needed to go racing though, again, if you wish big brakes are easy to bolt on. So, cheap to buy for what you are getting, perfect to learn how to really drive before you go off the road bass ackwards at dangerous speeds, rewarding for the experienced driver even box stock as she drives off the showroom floor and able to accept significant modifications without rebuilding the entire car. Honestly, if you understand why this car was designed and built the way it was it truly is as perfect a car as it is possible to build for this kind of money. A M A Z I N G ! |

It's a big middle finger to practically everyone. Middle finger to performance Fast & the furious/JDM junkies, middle finger to MPG conscious prius owners, middle finger to modern CVT's, middle finger to gas guzzlers, a middle finger to BMW owners...yet all at the same time a car that seems just for me.

i have been on planet earth for about... half a century and most of that time i've been on two and four wheel machines. i LOVE to drive and ride. the brz is truly a driver's car. it is fun to drive, it is comfortable to drive, it makes going places FUN!
seriously, i've driven, ridden and flown a lot of great machines. for the money i don't think there is a better car on the road for driving enthusiast. |

When I purchase a car, I considered: performance, reliability, price, fuel economy, and technology, comfort. Ft86 hits all of the spots besides practical (if it has 4 doors would be perfect). Also, when a car is too expensive, I felt bad racking miles and drive hard. Although power is low compared to other cars, but I think it is adequate. I don't do street race or drag racing anyway. Kept me out of trouble.

It's a more roomy & more practical version of the Honda S2000 to me.. minus the ugly electronic gauges & softtop.

1) Lightweight RWD coupe
2) Normally-aspirated 3) Balanced, nimble chassis 4) Good feedback 5) Great driving position It's basically the same reasons I loved my Boxster S. There's something about that combination of qualities that makes cars enjoyable. I've liked my FR-S and Boxster S more than the heavier, less balanced cars I've owned like my STI hatch and 350z.
