Okay Frosty86 and White Shadow. You guys keep going at each other in thread after thread. Cant one of you guys be the better man and just ignore the other?
For the record, I think Frosty86 is by far the worst one, but both of you like to trigger the other one, so it does not even matter who started it, who is the worst one, or who is the most annoying. Just stop polluting threads!

Hopefully, there will not be another post in this thread or any other that is not related to the subject and just related to each other from any of you.
And please don't reply to my post. Dont reply to the other guy. Just.. be the better man!

It's a little tempting to start a thread for them where they can have at each other as much as they want , and leave the rest of us in peace to discuss the topic at hand

ive been averaging 34mpg mixed, though i havent brought the car over 3700 rpm. and havent floored it. trying to do a nice and clean break in. im nearly half way done . it feels like it takes forever i wonder if the mpg will go up. not like it matters to me i think its very good considering Boxer engines were never good on gas. so this is a total plus to me coming out of my 20mpg e36 M3

Im at ~29-30 MPG combined city/highway (MANUAL TRANSMISSION) and I usually rev up the engine from complete stops.

What are you guys getting with Automatic ones?

I have been seeing 35 - 37, mostly highway miles. Lots of 65mph limits around here which helps. One of my pet peeves is how the cruise control acts... It is very strict and will force a downshift to keep you at the precise setting. I would rather see a more lenient control that allows greater speed fluctuation before forcing a downshift and a raising rpm. Overall i am very happy with its performance, but if i kept cruise on more the reults would be worse.

Well, driving the car how its meant to be driven I average about 26mpg on my daily commute, whick is only a 10 min drive to work and is half stop and go and half 55mph. when I first got the car and I did a 2k mile road trip I was averaging 36mpg. I also run 93 octane and even at 26mpg I'm not unhappy, like I said I drive the car the way its meant to be driven, hard and fast.

I'm averaging 28 mpg with mixed driving on a 15 mile commute. Freeway driving (60-70 mph) to work and side streets (20-40 mph) home.

I was a little surprised after getting this car my MPG was in the low 20's. After seeing everybody in the high 20's to 30's I got jealous lol and tried keeping my foot out of it so much for a week or so and avg. around 28-30 mpg using the dash readout (which I've experienced is about 1-3mpg optimistic).

I don't care anymore though and just drive the crap out of it. Why not wring it out every chance I get and still get 22-24mpg what other car can do that ?

Folks, don't forget that the mpg readout is a LIE. we are NOT getting the number shown, actual mileage using the fill tank/divide miles method will always be 1-2mog less.

I haven't found a single car that has an accurate mpg reader, by design I'm sure. How many of you honestly double check the number versus your own calculation after each fillup?

I take meticulous readings early on in my cars life so that I can check it later on when it's older. If it still gets within 1mpg of brand new, the car is performing well.

This car, like every car I've owned before is giving me the exact same numbers that the stickers showed. In this case my FR-S gets 22 city(readout claims 23-24), 30 highway(claimed 31-32).

And yes, I also agree that the mpg is rubbish compared to what other manufacturers can put out with larger cars and bigger(should be hungrier) engines. It must be the boxer to blame. At least we aren't in rotary mpg territory which is totally abysmal. However, it's still "good" overall and is what I expected to get prior to buying. I predicted 1-2 less than my RSX-S in the city and that's what I'm getting. Highway is identical so far, though I was averaging 80-90mph with A/C on in the FR-S during my one big highway test(325 miles each way), so it might be better at normal speeds.
