Do you guys know about the "Touge" video series Toyota produced?

Not sure if you guys have come across this, but Toyota made about 160 episodes based on the 86 starting from the launch of the car back in 2012.

Each episode features a location through the mountains in Japan, with various types of music, and a narrator explaining some details of the area. If you took all of the touge locations they feature, this would be an amazing map of great driving roads in Japan! (Edit: Someone did!)

It's an interesting way to showcase the driving pleasure of the 86. It's all in Japanese, which some of you guys may understand. If not, oh well, not much text or talking anyways.

Here's the first one and the playlist on Youtube. Enjoy!

Yea I found it a while ago and just remembered it. It's been great using it as background music haha.

Would be pretty cool to see the same format for the US too...I'm sure there are plenty of places to explore.

Wow this is awesome! The 86 looks right at home
Unfortunately, we had Toyota shove Scion marketing down our throats for 4 years instead of doing creative things like this to embrace what the 86 is all about!

You mean this car isn't all about driving down a straight road and everything exploding when you come to a stop?

Speaking of commercials, does Subaru even advertize for the BRZ?

I thought it was about gay couples meeting through the Uber taxi service when the driver shows up in an FR-S.

There are some Japanese commercials floating around YouTube, but they are incredibly lame.

Yup. Cool series. Here's a link to a database that some awesome Japanese guy put together that includes Google maps of the roads from each episode.

Whoa there is a database! That is ridiculous. This must have taken so much time and dedication...glad someone else did it for the rest of us haha. I'll update the first post with this link, thanks!

I just about fell asleep trying to watch the video...my subdivision has higher speed limits than shown in the video. Scion got it right with their first commercial before release:

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but anyone know of any translations on these?

I'm assuming they are mostly giving information about the area they are driving, and whatever local industry/etc that they highlight, but it'd be nice to learn these things while watching.
