People's Reaction to Your New FR-S

[The RZ Precept]

I was driving around town the other day and this nice deep sounding Hyundai Genesis Coupe turbo (modified from what I can tell) pulls up behind me and starts revving his engine, at first I didn't think much of it. The guy started to follow me for a couple of miles, and then pulls up next to me at a stop light and revs his engine. I roll down my passenger window and yell "nice car man" He responds by saying "I know, why did you get something that awfully slow and ugly?"

I started laughing and told him that speed isn't everything in a sports car and I enjoy driving my car. Afterwards, he gave me a disgusted face and speed off to the highway ramp.. lol..

I had a middle aged gentleman knock on my window while I was sitting in a parking lot and ask me what I paid for mine, how I liked it, if it was hard to drive, etc.

He was pretty cool and his daughter waiting in his car next to me was very embarrassed.

Was walking out from a coffee shop to my car and a younger guy (18-25) asked me what I thought of the car. He said I need to turbo it.... Well that costs money. He said he was gonna buy one, but it didn't have a turbo, so he bought an m3

Was driving around in the snow the other day and everyone outside was looking at me like I was prancing down the street with wings on my back or something. Either people were in disbelief that a rwd car could drive in the snow, or they were just amazed by the car. Lol

When I first got the car, the gas company guy checking the meters in the area approached me and asked if it was the new Supra. I politely told him it was actually Scion FR-S. The conversation went on with horsepower, is it rear wheel drive, and how I liked it. About 5 minutes later he came back to ask how much it costs. I think he was disappointed that it wasn't a Supra, but, came out with a curiosity of possibly checking one out in the future.

I have had probably had at least a half dozen people ask me if I liked it, why I chose it over the BRZ, is it fast, and an older Japanese guy just curious of what was across the street at the gas station (we probably talked for about 30 minutes and I was almost late for work).

Most recently the best was one of the neighbourhood kids walking with their mom stating "look mommy - a race car". It is funny how often people's first impression is that of a race car.

I had a chick taking pictures of it at a red light, she then wrote her phone number down on a piece of paper and pressed it against her window.

I opted not to call her, a woman who gives her number out to a stranger at a red light is trouble!

There is good trouble, and there is bad trouble. Then there is "The Hangover" trouble. Sometimes the last option just ROCKS!

other than that, smiles, thumbs up, head turns, pictures taken from different people.

cept for genesis owners, they always look and then mug.
