Welp time to find a flooded 86 and start building a K24/K20. Hopefully by the time I'm done building the kit will be avail to purchase.

Still very early stages, but I wanted to give everyone a glimmer of hope.... we test fitted the first prototype harness for the K24! A couple minor changes, then we will re-fit it, make sure it's good, then it will have the jumper added, then it will go on a car and hopefully fire one up! This is all still a few weeks of work, but I just wanted everyone to know it has made a huge step!

Yea, I think that's going to be an easy to obtain option that bolts on to most K and S2k manifolds, so we are going with that style.

What do you think is a ballpark estimate of what this will cost turn-key?

personally i think it will be a couple of grand.. each build is different, parts, labor(or if you do it all yourself), PnP, etc.. i'd say 10k if you buy used parts, no engine build, etc. most expensive cost will be the PnP harness

Obviously these numbers are estimates based on current prices and really don't include taxes/shipping/condition/etc. I would think $12.5-15k is reasonable after sale of the stock parts. If someone has their stock motor and trans in good condition then maybe they could get $2500 for those. I could be way off. I just figured someone should start something of a list.

I heard you can do it with less cash, using stock the K engine factory harness and a transmission adapter to fit the fa20 tranamission

What Ashikabi said, and as it was discussed before, an adapter would push the k24 engine further forward than the stock engine position, making the engine sit really far forward and making the Pure engine mounts ineffective, as they wouldn’t line up. The only way around that might be a custom bell housing, but this seems unlikely that anyone would want to produce such a thing. Even still, a remote hydraulic throwout bearing would probably be needed. After that, hopefully everything is worked out so that the input shaft fits into a custom pilot bearing. None of this seems like money is saved, and most importantly, this scenario would add front end weight.

It seems that for a street car this swap isn't great value for money as a Motec and harness are needed. Now for a track car you could probably get away with a Hondata ecu since you wouldn't care about the interior functioning and save a few bucks.

Isn't anyone trying to get the CAN adapter to work?

Might be about to get the Nemesis computer to work too. I don't see why not

I think someone on the forum has gotten a CANBUS emulator to work for most functions but not fully yet on a 2AR turbo swap.
