Car seems to be pulling timing with OFT v4.03 Stg1

Hello folks,

I've flashed the OFT v4.03 ROM onto my car about a month ago and been daily driving it since. I've only recently started to datalog because the butt-dyno said things felt a little off.

I checked my IAM today and it was pegged at 0.56 the whole time. I'm seeing knock correction come on at certain times too, plus my LTFT varies between -6.5% and -3.9%. I tried the second gear run from ~2000 rpm to about 7000rpm at ~30% throttle hoping I could get the IAM up a little, but saw no chance. I also saw knock correction kick on around 3000rpm during that run. I did see IAM at around 0.76 last night, but I can't be 100% sure. Even after a restart of the car, the IAM stays at 0.56 - which is expected behaviour from reading other threads.

I'm using Shell 91 in Canada. The car definitely feels slower and less responsive than stock to me. Any idea what might be wrong? I feel like it might be a case of a batch of bad fuel, but I'll have to wait until I empty this tank to verify that. Car is stock except for a high flow air filter.

Here are two datalogs that might help:

https://datazap.me/u/rb28dett/low-iam-1?log=0&data=1-13
https://datazap.me/u/rb28dett/low-iam-2?log=0&data=1-10

Many thanks in advance for any help I might try re-flashing the stage 1 tune again and seeing if anything changes.

EDIT: Something a little odd to me as well. My car is a MY15 MT FRS with a calibration ID of ZA1JD00C, but on the OFT website there's no matching tune. The only file for JD00C is for a MY14 (not 15) which is what I've flashed. I'm not sure if that is what is causing the issues. Also I've never been able to get FFS to work (it just bounces off the full rev limiter) even though LC works.

Screen shot of my Openflash Manager included as an attachment.

I flashed the ROM with FW version 1.51, but the OFT just updated itself to 1.53. I'm not sure what the changes are between them and if I should re-flash.

Yes with 91 fuel on v4 tunes the iam is unlikely to ever be 1 and you will always have some knock

I could modify tune for you to run better on 91

Just a quick note. You didn't blur out the S/N on the top

yeah. seem like the my car is not as responsive with the 4.0 stage 2 plus update. I am thinking switching back to the older Stage 2OFH v1.0.

Steve,

Is there a 4.0 stage for the openflash headers I can download?

Is it always better to run 93+ on Stage 1 on 4.03 to reduce knock?

I'm also a little curious as to what kind of power loss there is between running 93+ and just 91 on these tunes. Especially if the car is pulling 30% of the timing at 91.

am at 0.7 doesnt mean 30% of the timings is pulled
it s 30% of The ignition advance map (Knock correction A)
we are talking of maximum 3 degrees of timing so dont Know, something less than 10-12cv probably

I noticed the same thing. The tune says it's for a MY14 and my car is a MY15. I have the same calibration ID as you too
