Just a quick question about the coolant.

Here in Italy seem is impossible to find the Toyota/Subaru Blu stuff 50/50 so i searched other products.

Motul advice is this:

The specs are the same mentioned in the owner manual of the car..

Go for it?

Thanks!
I don't know about the Motul that you posted (because I have no experience with that), but you can try ordering online from fteightysix.

Do Toyota/Subaru dealerships in Italy not carry the OEM coolant? Seems odd, curious is all.

DAMN!! I really should have read this thread a week ago. I needed to add coolant so I just added the green shit we have in our garage. If I flush my fluid out and replace it with the Super Blue from Subaru (it rhymes), will it be ok??

I would flush it. Will it be ok, I don't know. Perhaps someone with much more knowledge can answer that question with confidence... lol

Millers Oils Red Alpine Anti Freeze in mine as it much cheaper than the difficult to find and overpriced premixed stuff Subaru sell.

It uses OAT and is a hybrid low phosphate coolant.

Its free from:

Silicates
Nitrates
Amines
Borates
Phosphates

So as far as I can tell it exactly what Subaru Specify.

and its Red so matches the colour of my car

Yes but I found it while searching so I am sure others will do the same. Just sharing my findings, as everyone seems to be afraid of putting in anything but the "magic" Subaru stuff.

Haha fair enough! Personally I don't think the magic blue stuff is too expensive.

I used that Millers Alpine when I installed my Cosworth SC kit so I've got about 3 litres of it left, which is perfect amount for the coolant.

I read through the whole thread and I didn't find anyone saying that subaru super blue coolant is the same as toyota's coolant blue. FYI I had a 2014 scion frs for 2014 and 2015 and I bought the blue coolant from toyota for my frs it was like $40 bucks. And now I have a 2016 subaru brz and I want to add some coolant but the manual says to use subaru blue only. And I'm reading the back of the blue coolant gallon from toyota and it say it has been specifically formulated for Scion FRS engines.
This might be a pretty dumb question buy I shold be okay right if I use toyota's blue coolant on my subaru right? Thanks in advance lol

I do believe they are the same, they are just bottled different. The reason they want you to go to your respective dealer is to make sure you get the proper stuff and not use that green all purpose coolant

Its a same car so I'm pretty sure you can use it, but I'd call dealer or someone who knows for sure. Thing is you can't really mix coolants. If Toyota has different stuff in their blue coolant and Subaru doesn't than that's bad. So look it up before you add.

JUST TO CLARIFY - by blue, you guys mean turquoise, right? Because the coolant in my car is definitely not blue and a lot closer to turquoise. I just want to make sure the previous owner didn't mix different coolants together.
