Don't worry, we were all ignorant at some point. I have found this forum to be a treasure trove of information. It took some time, but going through all the stickied posts and popular threads gave me all the knowledge I have today.

Well here is a real piece of advice.... Always search before you ask. It will help prevent you from getting

OP, like you, I was very new to a lot of this stuff when I first joined this site. I do agree, people here are a little quick to just assume you're trolling if you ask a simple question that has already been asked and answered multiple times. With that being said, there is A TON of great information on this site. I can't even begin to tell you how much I have learned scrolling through 100's of different threads on here. The search feature in this site kinda sucks, but if you use Google and limit the search results to ones just from this site, you can find an answer to almost any question you may have.

Anyway, also like you, I have a 13 AT FR-S, and wanted to try and learn how to launch it too. Like others above have said, it can be done, you just have to find the brake "sweet spot" and you can get it to rev out passed 2.5k RPM. I tried it a few times, but the transmission doesn't seem to like it too much. IMHO, I would steer clear of trying to launch the car using the brake and gas method, and if you really want to/need to launch it, just slam on the gas pedal. You will get about the same results anyway.

There is a very easy way to launch this car in higher rpm's... neutral drop.

I said its a very easy way, not a very smart way.

That was how I used to launch my old 64 Implala with the 327 and Powerglide tranny. Mind you the tranny only had two speeds and they were as sloppy as hell so never hurt it. The diff on the other hand...

I currently own a 2013 FR-S AT (I know, I know.. should've got MT) and I noticed it won't let me rev passed 2.5k when I'm holding the break down.. This sucks so much because I can't burn out or launch. The other day I somewhat did a burn out by holding the break all the way down, letting it go little by little and flooring the gas. I had VSC off and it just fishtailed forward but I can't do it anymore.. help!!! I feel like my car loses power every once in a while. I'll step on the gas all the way down and it takes forever for it to accelerate.. any help with that? thanks guys. I appreciate the help

Dude if you read through this forum you would know why people think you are trolling! If I had a dollar for every guy that posted one time with something like that just to get everybody going I could probably buy a round for the crew here.

You will find that we can actually be a pretty good crowd and help when we can. Read what already exists, learn from it and pick somebody to point you in the right directions and all will go well. We are more than happy to help you learn but do not expect us to spoon feed you on every easy to find piece of info or silly question (those can go horribly wrong for you take my word for it).

Oh, and if you want something for burn outs you bought the wrong car.

I fixed the link where the answer was. I wasn't trolling the OP and I don't believe he is either to get the answer for this. Correct link: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8283
