Are Harry's Laptimer datalogs good enough for useful instructional feedback?
Logged some laps with a friend's iPhone using "Harry's Laptimer" data logging app. It looks like it takes 1 sec snapshots. Is a log like this useful in any way for effective (instructional) feedback to someone new like me?
Not beating around the bush: can anyone tell me how to drive better looking at the attached data? Note: you have to edit the file types for the attachments. MAM = .csv LapTimer = .kml |

For autox you will need a 5Hz GPS and something in car that can do data logging and display your sector times. I started using an app for android called trackmaster. I you can see + or minus in real time where you were ahead or behind from your last run, and breaks down sector times. You set all of this by walking the course before the first run.

I'm more into road course, haven't done autox. Anyhow, yeah, I was only looking at it in excel. Changed it because the forum wouldn't allow me to attach a .csv file.
I assumed it probably didn't have enough resolution to be of much use. More of a novelty, I bet. Maybe I'll print it and put it on the fridge for bragging rights. Edit: Speaking of bragging, I'm totally going to highlight the lines with 1.2 G's of sustained lineal braking. That was fun. Last edited by jonnyozero3; 05-06-2013 at 12:07 AM. |
