frs vs brz

makes me paranoid. I have a brz, but Ive realized I'd like the FRS handling a little more. I still want something factory tuned though. I cant decide weather to trade in for FRS or buy FRS springs. Its crazy but I would want the excact feeling toyota intended for the car, and I'm not sure if swapping the springs is not quite exact.

Unless you can expertly drive the car at the limit and frequently have the opportunity to, you will not notice a difference. This is making a mountain out of the tiniest molehill.

And if the difference in feel between the scion and the subaru is caused by the dampeners as well, than swapping springs will not accomplish what my wish is.

If it isn't conclusive as to weather its the dampeners springs or both how can you even make that statement? I did notice the difference when swapping for a road trip with my friends FRS. I would like to put that feel into my BRZ. I might be neurotic and crazy but I would like that exact setup.

i think the problem is that it is a very expensive proposition for such a small change. after the downgrade to the frs (in terms of finances) you could have bought a set of proven coilovers. or for the cost of buying stock frs suspension and installing it, you more than likely could have picked up rce yellows and some minor suspension stuff. the oem knows what they are doing but they are handicapped by the fact that they have to cater to a much bigger audience than aftermarket.

The shocks are the same between the cars, but if you're that paranoid about it just buy a used set of shocks/springs from someone with an FRS.

Quite often in the spring the weather will be showing rain causing the ground to get wet.

I disagree, same "problem" exists depending on what spring rates are fitted. There is no consensus among manufacturers nor is there any "right" way.

i meant by getting rid of the stock springs/shocks, you can adjust both to whatever you want, so it wont matter which one came stiffer stock.

It is conclusive. Only the springs are different. There are shock dynos of both posted on this site (somewhere).

IMO the best and most fun of the OEM set ups would be BRZ front springs and FRS rears. I get that some people really want a true OEM setup but there are good options on the aftermarket. Worth getting a ride from someone to check out at least.
