Continued to ease in the harder driving. its a little silly to think at 999 bad things will happen if driven hard but at 1000 its a ok. I started gradually increasing how hard I drove starting at about 900.

Yes I have evidence. First of all I am on my second car. First one I followed break in, it felt gutless. New one I Just thrashed from the get go, feels so much better.

Then, there are 3 or 4 cars that I personally know have been thrashed from the beginning. If any person who has followed the break in hops into these cars from their own they instantly realise the car feels more powerful and responsive.

Lastly, here in NZ we have the TR86 race cars. They were flogged from day one with no break in, straight onto the circuit.

Unofficially, in a conversation, I have had someone from Toyota also confirm all of the above.

As for reliability and longevity, well don't know, no one seems to be having problems....

The FR-S's that are sold in colder places were shipped with with all season Bridgestones shortly after the initial launch.

Finally hit the magic number yesterday afternoon. After I got my requisite odometer picture I celebrated by passing two motorhomes in one shot

Time will tell which break-in procedure holds up best over time. We still don't have many folks over 30k miles. When these cars start hitting 85-100k miles there may be a difference.
