Unfortunately, this appears to be a "safety" feature built in to the window indexing. There is a note about it in your owner's manual. However, with this fix, it looks like they reduced the distance the window drops, so it should seal better when it's frozen.
Do you have a link to it? Or can you attach it to a post in this thread?

My dealership is much more susceptible to doing the work if I hand them the TSB since otherwise they can never find them on their own

If you're a Subaru tech or have log in info to the Subaru Information System here is the link: http://techinfo.subaru.com/proxy/752...-07-79-13R.pdf

Parent Site where the TSB is listed: http://techinfo.subaru.com/static/whatsNew.html

doesn't really do any of us any good lol

In their defense, Subaru's search engine sucks. The bulletin is on the "What's New" page on STIS, they should be able to find it easily enough for at least the next month. And the correct bulletin number was posted above. If you bring that to them they should be able to look it up by number.

the whats new page was my 2nd link

my 1st link was to the correct bulletin, I just can't log in because I don't work there. Thanks though for your input. I don't think that's why they tend to turn me away though, lol.

If that was pointed at me, I didn't actually share anything... until now.

I got a local guy who has access to send it to me, so here is the TSB for Subaru:

This fix has been great for me. Much less moisture freezing inside of the car (still some as my commute is too short to really allow the dehumidifier to work or any snow in the car to melt). Windows aren't going into failsafe mode and getting stuck open/closed.

I called today to have them order the parts for the window fix. Unfortunately they need to see it themselves since its warranty work they are claiming. So hopefully they freeze up for me soon.

Anybody what's involved in testing for defect? I'm bringing in my BRZ to get the taillights replaced due to condensation. I've had the window freezing happen in the past, they said they'll take a look at it when I get the taillights replaced, but temperatures here in Vancouver have already warmed up, so it won't be freezing by then.

I talked to my dealer last friday, and they have the parts on order to fix mine. No word yet on when they will get them.

Thanks for the TSB.

If they're being sticklers about it since it's under warranty, don't reset the indexing when it acts up so you can show them that they aren't working. Personally, if a car comes in with that concern, there's no history of the repair, and the vehicle falls within the VIN range indicated by the bulletin, I perform the repair. Especially if it's caused by a temperature issue that is not present on the day the customer brings it in.

doesn't make sense for them not to perform the tsb repair if the vehicle falls within the vin range. it's basically free work for the tech/advisor/customer, unless they are super busy or the advisor isn't aware of the tsb.

Ugh anybody in canada get anything done about their windows?

My weather stripping got destroyed, big scratches down the length of the window, nasty sound when it's wet because it's dragging rubber down.

So I was pumped when I saw there was a tsb for this, take it in, they can't find it. Fair enough considering they couldn't find anything to do with the fuel pump also.

So I go back with the tsb #, " that's American, means nothing to us". Well damn.

So now I got a message saying yea they have finally indeed found the Canadian tsb, aaaaaand my car isn't in the vin# range.

What are my options? All weather stripping is gone on drivers side, most on passenger, they do the freeze mode when it gets cold, I've got all the problems on the tsb but for whatever damn reason I'm not in the vin range, what gives and what would you guys do?
