I have never heard such a thing where im from (Norway, Europe). In terms if sales price an FR-S would probably be worth less. Enthusiasts know it is a low-spec import. It could maybe have a larger appeal to some people in the future who are going to make it a track-only car. Or make it into a drift car. But they would only import due to price (and maybe weight in areas where they only sell cars with all options) But I guess most will just import an already built drift/track car from japan instead. Most people does not know what a Scion is. And I bet if i asked 3000 people only 2 would know what it was. On mobile.de (used cars in Germany) there are 160.000+ cars for sale. I found one Scion model. I could not even choose the name Scion, had to search. Currently not one Scion for sale in Norway. In the US its natural to want the GT86. You have Toyota cars over there. Many people would prefer the Toyota badge. Many would prefer the GT86 name. And many people would prefer to have a top spec car in terms of options. There are probably a microscopic number of people in Japan who would prefer an FR-S. yes, they exist. Be they have already sold over 20.000 GT86 cars there, so of course there are some people who wants to have something more "special". I can see that some entusiasts in EU and Asia will re badge their Toyota with Scion logo tough to get a more fancy logo and not be associated with Toyota. Kinda like the same way several MR2 (Roadster) owners bought the "Midship runabout" badge. Its more exotic. |

@RaceR thanks.
I think changing emblems is a fun way to make your car special to you. Through the forum, people should just exchange badges and make new friends in the process. |
