I admit, I get tired of doing them by hand. Any recommendation on a battery charged impact gun/wrench? Not looking to spend a ton of money on one but need one that will work.

Would probably help if you stated your budget. I use a Milwaukee M12 FUEL 3/8" impact and it takes them off without a problem. It's rated for 117ft-lbs. I think I paid around $180 for it a few months ago when it was on sale and they were giving out a free battery as well. If that's not enough power for you, you can step up to the M18 FUEL or to the IR7150, but you're looking at $$ for those.

I have a shitty rigid, part of my work set.

I Use breaker bar to break free then impact for rest. Not really a hassle at all doing it that way if you have a socket for each.

I got my 1/2" Dewalt on Black Friday for $90 with a battery and charger. I torque my lugs to 75ftlb and if I go any higher it starts to have trouble breaking them.

I agree Milwaukee M18 impact gun works great for taking off lug nuts. Putting them on however you could easily over torque them so you should be using something else for that. I use my small M12 to put them on because I know it can't reach the proper torque, then tighten with a proper torque wrench.

I noticed a guy putting his lugs back on with a drill at the last event I went to. With the adjustable clutch there's nothing to worry about but I imagine it's pretty low on power. I haven't had any trouble putting them on slowly and stopping as soon as the impact starts clacking.

I got this: Craftsman 1/2 Impact and it works very well. I would get a lithium battery and charger too.

I have a Craftsman CORDED impact rated for 150ft/lbs...it got my stock lugs off fine, but not my spline drive ones. So...always get more torque than you think you need.

I have that one from Sears as well, works great. Occasionally you can get them cheaper on sale. I think I paid $80 for mine (bare tool, no battery or charger) but I already had the batteries and chargers from other tools in that system. The similar Ryobi one from Home Depot should work just as well, and I've heard rumors that the Craftsman and Ryobi cordless tools are made by the same company.

I went by Sears today and picked up a Craftsman cordless impact gun. I went with the 3/8" one because most of my sockets are that size and it's also quite lighter than the 1/2". It still has 130 ft-lb of torque power.

At home depot one rep stocks the ryobi, rigid and miluwakee. Has told me they're the same company, not saying there arent product differences, but its all handled by the same guy.
