However, I can also find 10 series FRSs with a manual with like 50k on them for about the same price. I prefer the Subaru, and thats what I've been lusting over for the longest time, but should I put aside my preferences and go with the FRS?

I'll be driving the car on almost strictly highways to class during the week and spirited driving on the weekends. No track days or anything.

I'm also assuming I won't be able to talk a dealer down from $14k (around 60k miles on those) or so to 13k on a BRZ Limited. Am I wrong?

PS: Please forgive me if this is in the wrong spot, I'm new here. Let me know and I'll be happy to ask my question in the appropriate thread

Alright, so it sounds like you need a car quickly? In that case, you gotta do what you gotta do to get something in budget. Both offer the same driving experience. If you had time I would say stick with getting the Subaru with what you want.

Other options for you include widening your search radius, waiting for something just right to show up, or waiting to increase your budget if you can.

Prices are very regional so keep that in mind, but you might want to start your own thread here in the Subaru section:
https://www.ft86club.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=23

That's going to get the most attention and best answers as to how you can swing the Subaru option. Be more specific on time frame in that one (in case you have another ride) which will affect the advice you get.

Thanks so much! I reposted within the Subaru forum to see what I get. Mainly, I am just concerned if the higher mileage is a concern. My first thought is these cars should be reliable if taken care of

Gear lever issue

Hi Guys. The gear lever on my 86 has a lot of side to side movement when in gear. What do I need to do to resolve this?

Do you have any trouble getting into first or second?

Can you rotate the gearshift even the slightest bit about its vertical axis?

Hey guys, so I drive a 2019 Toyota 86. Im planning on going E85 soon. Do I need any supporting mods to run E85? I know on some vehicles you need to upgrade injectors or fuel pump. I want to run e85 & not worry about the engine being harmed. Also if you guys can recommend a good tuner, Id appreciate it

No, all you need is a Flex Fuel kit which you can get from Delicious Tuning or PTuning im not sure what others are out there. And lastly after you have that installed you'll need a tune for e85 and you should be good. Maybe this thread will help you.

Can anyone help me ID this exhaust and let me know if they've owned it or if they did/didn't like anything about it? Looking to pick it up used, can't find the brand online. Also is it axle back or cat back, confused on the difference
