Silly question, but... in your guys' experience, what would make the SC whine louder - metal/aluminium intake pipe (instead of the plastic one), or replacing the stock air box with a cone filter? Obviously both would make it the loudest, I get that.

I'd rather have the aluminium pipe and keep the stock air box, but if the whine isn't much louder when retaining the air box, it might not even be worth it.

Cone filter makes it really loud. Here's an example

Also...for those who are running this kit with AT..are you able to get the SC to whine in 'D' mode? Mine rarely does it. Do I have to drive in manual mode and get RPM's up? Is that the only way to hear the whine? I have the Moto East intake, same as the one in the video above.

Your gonna heatsoak like a mofo unless you have e85... And even then expect some with warmer ambient temps.

Looking for insight on users milage. Mine has really taken a shit. Getting maybe 150-175miles with a 90-10 street to freeway drive on 5w-30 pure e85 and sticky rubber. Fuel trims are decent and under WOT I might be a bit rich.. but better than lean. Knew it would go down but this is pretty bad but so much fun

That's what I'm getting. around 160 to the tank (E85) with 100% street driving. I have a vacuum leak as well and running super rich.

Im on pump and get about 18mpg. WOT pulls are too addicting but you get 1mpg at WOT. If i drove the same way i did before the supercharger i could easily get 22+mpg

E85 drops your mpg about 30% in addition to the above.

In order most to least, but all will enhance it.
Cone filter adds the most whine, potentially takes away hp
Perrin intake adds some, and adds a little hp.
Aluminum pipe adds some, potentially takes away hp
Smaller pulley adds some, adds a lot more power.

Reminds me I still need to try the 70mm pulley. Currently sitting on 72.5mm pulley. Will wait till I change my oil and rotate my tires.

Do it. I noticed a solid difference between the 72.5mm and 69mm. On E85 and 70mm + full bolt on support you'll be pushing 300whp.

By the way, how are your tires hooking up? Can they handle a hard launch well? Or is it just spin city to top of first on a launch?
Unfortunately where i live its either two sets of tires or one set of UHP all seasons, but they cant handle anything over taking off from idle or i spin to top of first shift to second they finally hook up but my speed drops to 20mph. Highly considering getting a 255 on the rear so i can experience launching again.

Hard launches are spin City till end of second. Will be trying 245's next time. Normal driving is fine. Will do my first Auto-X in October on the 225 rubber.

Might be a silly question, but.. How come the SC doesn't whine when I rev it while it's in park (AT)? Do I have to be in neutral? I have the Moto East intake as well.

I've seen this video where this owner was able to make it whine when revving while in a standstill.

While the topic is on the whine can I ask.. does the SC noise get annoying for a daily driver? I agree sounds awesome on the WOT pulls I've see on youtube. But I wonder if driving it to work everyday and even the idle grinding noise would become tiresome after a while. But happy to hear it from actual owners.

I'm currently trying to decide between the Sprintex or the Harrop setup. Harrop seems the better choice on paper but it's a bit more $$

No whine at idle / lower rpm / partial throttle, IE daily driving. Beside the ease of casually being able to accelerate up to speed without even trying you forget its there. Until you go WOT and are happily reminded by both the wonderful sound and the incredible acceleration that you are in fact supercharged.

If 300WHP on E85 or 270WHP on 93 is the most power you want this kit has the meatiest powerband. If you want more power now or in the future then look elsewhere.
Also i wouldn't track this kit either unless you plan on adding WMI which adds more $$. You could do light tracking on E85 but you'll still eventually heat soak.

Personally I think its the best kit for DD but worst for the track.
