Traveling to Japan!

Hi,

I'm traveling to Japan end of the month. Looking for recommendations and places to go while I'm out there. Any car related places would be awesome..

So far, I plan on going to:

10/27-11/11

Tokyo - Shibuya, Shinjuku
Hiroshima
Kyoto
Osaka
Tonami

The only shop I know and have been to is Tokyo SuperAutobacs. Its in Odaiba in Tokyo....closest station is Shinonome. Once you go out the station just cross the big street and you're there. The shop is really huge...lots of stuffs for the 86 as well as for other cars. Only problem is you have to look for someone who can speak English...when I was there only 1 guy could talk and even he was having a hard time. Enjoy!!!

Autobacs is expensive as hell even with the shitty yen rate. Go to "up garage" instead. Way better. +1 for soap land, its definitely an experience. Also go to Hakone turnpike. It's a high speed mountain pass with no speed traps or cops. The top view is amazing. Also go to Yabitsu pass at Friday or Saturday around midnight to see the Japanese drifting and touge racing. There will be a rest area near the top, that's where you want to be. Park there and enjoy, there's also a nice view up there too. There will be a wooden tower you go up and see the cities.

Sorry for hijacking the thread, but since the question is already been asked I might as well just chime in. Where is this Up garage? I am going to be in Japan (Osaka and Tokyo) in early january, I was hoping to pick up parts that aren't available in Canada.

the trick is to go there on a wednesday and have a female pay
But yeah, I'd recommend up garage too, only issue is unless you're willing to shop on their online store / have parts shipped to a local store / drive a lot, 86 parts can be a bit thin on the ground at times.
