So if they start production in August, when will they release details to confirm whether or not there are any changes? Even if there is no change, I would expect them to make an official statement at some point, otherwise consumers aren't going to be too happy if they wait out the entire summer driving season to wait for the 2014 models to come out only to find out there were no changes and they could have been driving a 2013 months ago.

Agreed. The 86/BRZ has received praises everywhere so I don't believe any dramatic changes are needed for second year production.

I do hope there would be some minor changes done each year, kinda like the R35.

That's the strategy the GT86 chief engineer said they were following - upgrades every year rather than waiting for a mid-cycle refresh.

I'll be pretty pissed if there are major changes that I fall in love with. Now on the other hand, if they're very minor then I'll be okay. But a bump in hp, possibly red factory tail lights or better seats (If that's even possible) would bum me out because I could have waited the extra month. My limited arrives in July and I got a killer deal so I won't complain too much

If they made major changes to the 2014 to where its clearly better than the 2013, then its going to kill the value of the 2013 versions. Unless they hiked the price up, which they wouldn't based on their marketing strategy for this car and its audience. Don't get me wrong I want all the fancy parts, I just don't want my car to depreciate faster than was anticipated.

Yeah I totally agree with you, but thankfully from what I heard there are minor changes to the 2014 model. So no need to kill the value of the 2013 versions!

Yeah seems to be the case, also what i'd expect for the second year of release.

I agree. I fear it might be too expensive though.

It's practically fact that there will be one. Safe money is on a collaboration with BMW and hybrid technology, probably somewhere between a Cayman, 911 and GTR in terms of price and performance.

Tough market segment. I was more hoping for something along the lines of the supra.s traditional competitor, the Z car.

Minus 500 pounds and with good visibility and brakes.

I want a new Supra as well, but can we keep this on topic? (Even though I really do want Supra news, )

I don't think there is going to be major changes like many have said. I think 2015 is where we will see some improvements. Like a drop top, different wheels, possible new front bumper design and updates to the interior. I think eventually there will be an option to have push-start in the FR-S, but time will tell
