Kenwood XXV-01D 25th Anniversary unit.
Was really nice apart from the lack of midbass haha. i shouldn't complain though, I got it for nothing to do a review on it.. Some of the Pioneer units are pretty good, the P99RS is fantastic, i have had my eye on it for some time now. The 80PRS from reports i have heard is supposed to be almost as good as the P99RS, I guess it all comes down to how much you want to spend haha

The Audison one is supposed to be alright. the Bit One.1 http://www.audison.eu/index.php?page=product&id=49 RRP is $1149, have you got an amp? i would say it wouldn't be too hard to install if you want to save $200, you could probably get one a bit cheaper than that too. Do you have the base HU or the satnav one? Also, Arc Audio are releasing their MS8 processor which is supposed to be leaps and bounds ahead of the Audison.. but i haven't played with either to know for sure. more info here http://www.mobileelectronics.com.au/...sor-a-reality/ So many options hahaha.

Well I've got the same question for you too... Thread jack Im running the GTS HU Connected to amp via high input (all 4 rear speaker wires) (actually Marty gave me the idea of running via high input since my amp supports it and not installing the $300? audison processor/rca converter) Running stock speakers at the front off the amp and sub off the same amp. Is it worth it ? Getting a processor... My sound quality is not too bad, i dont think. (still getting used to front speakers only) Maybe amp and HU needs better tuning. I only spent about 30min tuning it. Also if I decided to run the rear speakers off the same channel as the front speakers. Would I run them in parrallel or series (from what i've read Parallel is the go) ? Would I risk blowing speakers or amp. Or both ? |

AudioControl was the bomb back in the 90's.. but it's pretty old tech now and things have moved so far forward.

If you are happy with it, i wouldn't worry about the processor Personally, i wouldn't run rear speakers, when you go to a concert, you don't stand with your back to the gig? :p But! If you connect them in parallel you will get a 2 ohm load, which will probably be fine for the amp, you will get more power too, if you connect them in series you will get 8 ohm, which will give you less power. (and some amps don't like running it either) If you do connect them, i would go parallel, but there will be problems, you wont be able to control the power going into them, or volume. you will more than likely fry the rear speakers before the fronts, every time you turn up the volume you will clip the rear speakers while the fronts will be ok, soon enough you will let you the magical smoke and that stuff is almost impossible to get back in! man, you guys are making me remember stuff i have long thought forgotten :p

May try it, for fun... Hopefully blow the speakers and not the amp. Excuse to buy new speakers. (cant afford it at the moment) My Amp can run 2ohms. Yeah its sounds ok. ahh good enough. I never pump the system in traffic, only on freeways and constant speed, so it does the job. The rears are pretty crap anyway. My next job is to re-work the boot. Sub and amp wedged in the middle is annoying me... Loosing my license soon soon so will have some time to work on it. Memory refresh. Glad to be of service to you. |

Ks-ax5500 Its 5+ years old All amps have rca's, so i would have needed an high/low convertor / or processor to connect rca's, but since my amp has high input, i can connect 4 speakers wires from HU to amp instead. http://resources.jvc.com/Resources/0...3/MA194ien.pdf |

I think it would, and it would give you more control over the system too.
