got the new pump and put a little over 300 miles on it this weekend.

Best points

1. No more chirping... really not once... and the ac tweet is gone as well

2. I have not had any idle drops when coming to a light or about to park in an incline.

3. The flow is smoother.

Bads

1. Maybe its just a pump breaking in, but it feels slower at higher RPMS.

All in all im very happy with how fast we got this issue solved... Toyota actually is doing a great job at getting these in fast.

I think it's worthwhile to take it in anyway, regardless of whether or not it's really fixed. I work in IT and this is somewhat similar in the sense that if someone doesn't complain of an issue, I don't know it's a problem and therefore I won't fix it.

Subaru/Toyota/Scion only have the numbers to look at, they don't necessarily frequent the forums. As more people go in for the TSB, they'll get a broader view of the issue and if it comes back after the fix, they'll need to know it's still a problem. If everyone just dealt with it, they'd assume the issue has been resolved and stop trying to revise the part.

The downside is that you have to make an appointment and possibly take time off of work and all that jazz. It'll likely take forever to get the pump anyway...I'll probably be laid off before mine comes in, so scheduling shouldn't be an issue for me!

I had mine replaced about a month ago and the new one is making the same noise.
Toyota knows about it and I'm awaiting a response. Tired of all this cars bs.

At 180 miles, I just started noticing cricket sounds. Is it uncommon to have it this early?

From what I have read the answer is no.

Say did you get your brz at Kerney Mesa? If so how was the experience so far?

I havent heard the crickets at all this morning on my way to work. The problem seems intermittent for most of us.

I got mine from a dealership in Colorado. I was misled by one of the salesmen at KM unfortunately.

It seems that they can no longer order any BRZs (according to the salesman by the name of Dan). Kim, an internet salesperson, did offer to sell me a limited model at MSRP a couple months ago but back in May she was asking for a $3k markup.

I'm pretty sure this is one of the few places you can buy one at MSRP in SoCal but they are becoming increasingly hard to come by. I do hate dealing with lying salespeople though. Good luck.

SO Beaver Scion has replaced one pump so far, They want the regional technical representative to view the car on the 20th. So I'm sure they arn't looking at it like Subaru is in reference to the plunger alignment. Wish me luck

My car had maintenance done per the TSB and was cricket-free for about six weeks. Unfortunately, the crickets are back. Time to make that call again.
