Mike - Will you be there both days? If so, I'd be interested in a middle of the day session on Sunday.

Still TBD on if I'll go or not... basically it comes down to will I make more money coaching at a driving school or privately...

I haven't driven Thill, but if I go, I'll be driving too.

I'd be interested... going both days, so flexible on which day.

not so excited about the rain... RS3s are my only tires.

I think you should be fine. I don't know much about the RS3's, but I don't think you would gain much, if any, from running an all-season tire. Summer tires are really a misnomer. They are really 3 season tires. Generally speaking, they'll perform just as well, if not better than all-season tires in the wet. Where summer tires really suffer is in freezing temperatures. That's where the all-season tires would be much more useful.

I'm not a tire expert, and agree he'll be fine for a leisure track day. However from what I understand, RS3's differ from normal summer tires in that they are much closer to an R-compound tire, thus requiring a higher temperature to operate at full grip. This should be his main concern, needing the properly warm up the tires, not only dealing with less than optimal treading. I struggled with this when I drove my Exige w/ R888's in the rain - and only experience made me faster! So perhaps PMok should try his RS3's . PMok seems to also compete in 86Cup, so if he's aiming for good lap times... probably rains all the way.

@CSG Mike

I'll be going saturday and I am definitely interested.

weather.gov says 50% chance of rain on saturday. weather.com says 90% chance. I really hope it rains!

Lets get an interest list going and if there's enough, I might be able to convince the boss to let me take the CSG BRZ for the trip.

Sure. I can agree with that. I think the RS3 tire may not generate the most grip in wet condition, but I think that it will still generate a lot of grip and more grip than most all-season tire in the wet. I also agree that with the introduction of water/rain, it'll be harder for people to warm up their tires. But I think this will be true for all drivers/tires though.

I think the RS3's will be fine.
