Yeah, especially where you may have to stop on a hill.

I would recommend finding a dead-end road on a hill somewhere with no vehicles on the road and just practice going up the hill from a dead stop. That's the quickest way to learn to drive a standard properly imo.

Yeah, I have a feeling I'm gonna need a real car to get the hang of changing gears. Hill side start sounds super confusing too lol, I can barely do it without my car going back with an auto >_>

No shame in using the ebrake. I've been driving manual for years and will still use it if it's sketchy traffic and a steep hill etc.

If the BRZ is similar price to the WRX, like it is in the USA, then the BRZ premium will be $32000 or more. $6000 more than an FR-S.

I doubt that will happen.. They will set themselves up for failure in Canada if they go with usual markups.

Am I the only one who's starting to get really sick of hearing the "you guys are lucky because over in my country the cars costs 1,000,000x as much" argument? Every country has its financial pros and cons. Some countries have sweet health insurance, some have great colleges that you don't have to pay for, some have cheaper prices on durable goods, etc. I'd love someone to do an analysis of the different countries and how much it actually costs to live there, factoring in taxes, what services you get with those taxes, cost of living, salaries, etc so we could get a real idea of just how "lucky" we are here in the U.S.
