What do you think is the cleanest front plate bracket solution?

Look, we all hate having front plates.

But what do you think is the cleanest (and preferably no hole drilling) solution to attaching a front plate?

I'm interested in some ideas.

I've seen a tow hook plate relocate thing, that seems pretty niffty.

I love my Grimmspeed plate mount. It is very sturdy, well designed, and easy to work with, but for some reason this forum loves to flame anyone who likes tow-hook mount. I understand it's not for everyone, but its the best solution for me and my own car.

Magnets. This DIY is for a BRZ; not FR-S; but I think some FR-S owners have figured out similar solutions.

I prefer symmetry.

I've seen some tow hook brackets around town, but I don't think I could deal with the asymmetry. It's just very jarring.

It looks like you're not using the default factory bracket, since that one intersects both the bumper and grill. So what bracket do you use?

He could be using it. I am. The stock bracket is the right angle to mount to the mesh and have the plate be vertical. I didn't like how wide it was so I cut the ends off and zip tied it to the mesh.

I agree with the two above.

Mount it so that it's centered.

Mount it the absolute free way....any way you can with the parts supplied from the factory.

Mine is mounted with the factory parts, possibly same as humfrz did....though not the way they intended. No holes drilled to accomplish this. No screws/bolts at all lower portion of plate/frame...it just hangs free at bottom. Some say this blocks air to condenser/radiator, yet I've had no problem with overheating in temps up to 110 degrees f.

Edited for Tcoat...I looked at my car, to take a pic, and realized plate was not mounted as I initially stated, Oops.

Me as well! I think it looks goofy off to the side. Besides if at the tow hook it throws of the balance of the car and makes it dive into right turns.

So much for the OP opening statement of "We all hate having front plates".

This is how I mounted mine as well. No need to drill into the painted bumper and as a bonus, the license plate doubles as a block-off plate for my oil cooler for the street. On the track, you simply take off the plate and the oil cooler gets full airflow.

It's been well documented on the forum in other threads.
