Color options are up on toyota.com

https://www.toyota.com/upcoming-vehicles/gr-supra/

I never was a fan of the design when shown in red or white, but I actually rather like it in blue. A bit more glad that it doesn't currently come with a manual. Decently optioned in premium trim for about $54,000. As opposed to a base Cayman that, once you tack on similar options, quickly hits $68,000 - $70,000.

I'd go with Turbulence Gray. Although my opinion is that yellow is a great color on sports cars, so it would be a tough decision.

I'm genuinely not sure which one would have more markup. I wouldn't put it past Porsche dealers to throw more markup on a Cayman if the Supra gets close to the same cost, just because they can get away with it.

I would imagine the annual production numbers for the Supra are going to be way less compared to the Cayman.

Porsche is like today's Swiss watch of cars they can get away with charging a premium for anything and everything.

Toyota like most Japanese consumer goods producers are trying hard to adopt this concept with luxury branding but I would imagine the Toyota branded Supra would be hard to charge a premium, so they'll justify the pricing with limited production.

First year or on going? Probably easily obtainable first run but would be a difficult number to maintain in a declining market for GT type cars.

I doubt that. Maybe about the same.

Are those US sales? Those look about the same as US BRZ sales.

Worldwide? Probably in the first few years like you said but it’ll taper fast. Maybe less tapering if the potential and reviews from owners is good.

1K a month worldwide should be doable.

The 718 isn't a great comparison. It's valid, but you have to consider that with Porsche, a lot of buyers will stretch their budget for a 911, so that dilutes the numbers of both cars.

Also, I agree that the pricing of the 718 is definitely another factor to consider. When you go to a Porsche lot I would expect dealers to stock well-optioned cars reaching into the $80K+ range. If you are already stretching to afford $60K and you don't want to wait 6 months for a special order, the Supra may be a good alternative if Toyota can get those shoppers into the showroom.

So for the Supra, packaging options and making it easy for buyers to get what they want at a reasonable price should make it easier to move cars.

If they can't hit those numbers, they can still break out the I4 or start launching special edition models with more features, power, etc.

I don't know, maybe just the first year.

And to the few post above. The guy claims that it would be 1,000 units a month just for North America.
