Pretty widespread problem. I got mine swapped at 30000km no questions asked thankfully. And they weigh 86lbs without oil :p

What about adapting a lightweight 6 speed sequential transmission from a high power 1000cc sport bike instead of another crappy heavy Aisin transmission?

Ever wonder what it's like to ride in the back of my car?

Me neither, but here it is anyway:

No need to wonder. I lived it as well. It makes for a decent pit bike.

LOL.

BTW, in looking at the video I noticed that there are probably several cable ties/clamps that you could remove to shed some more weight.

The wiring harness is currently my biggest bother. I'm pretty sure I could shed a good 15 pounds by eliminating the circuits I don't need. That's going to be a TASK though.

The crash beam is integral to the chassis. I wouldn't remove it without a cage. And I'm not saying that for safety reasons I'm saying it for handling reasons. There's a reason TRD makes that dumb sounding "door stiffener". If you remove the windows and electric motor is saves 15 pounds per door. The cards are another 7 per door as well.

By crash beam I mean the one in the door.

@Anthony I realized you do not have the rear seats in your 1st post for weight savings. Did you take them out and forget to weight them? Curious as to how much they weigh.

Yes, I did. Good catch. I also forgot to weigh the roof liner. Both of those things are buried deep in storage, so I'm going to have to wait until the next time I'm dealing with my storage room before I get to weigh them. Hopefully I remember.

@MisterSheep From the Official Component Weights thread:

Rear seat bases (2)= 6.2 lbs.
Rear seat back (1-piece)= 15.0 lbs.

So 27.4lbs for the rear seats.

Man, I hope that's accurate. If so, that puts me right at 400.5 pounds of weight reduction. I've been struggling to get to the 400 mark, but I may already be there. How the hell do you weigh every bolt, but forget the back seats?

Say "no" to drugs.

Hey @Anthony,

What did you do with reverse lights? Did you use Diode Dynamics' tail as turn?
