LOL - Recaros and planes! Where have i seen that before? here's a pic of my kid in his Recaro as well (in our Outback), also holding his airplanes
Face is blurred cuz he was embarrassed as he was asleep with his mouth open.

I refer to it as kouki out of to a guy instrumental in making the 86 happen after he requested we refer to it that way. Also out of habit with kouki being common terminology in the MR2 community/cult for parts in our restomods.

Just as stupid as using the foreign term "86" in a country that only has the FR-S or BRZ. Annoying, right? Weaboos/cosplayers I know have no clue kouki and 86 refer to cars so it's more car guy stuff than weaboo.

I think he suggested"Kouki" over "2nd Generation" or something like that because it's the more accurate descriptor. Isn't the Kouki 86 also what's known as a "Mid-Cycle Refresh" (or just "Refreshed"?) If that's the case, then why not use the term (especially when "Kouki" sounds a lot like "Kooky" which is endearing on girlfriends and nieces but not so much on cars) and also seems unnecessary. Don't know about @kch but no disrespect from here, just a matter of practicality.

If I didn't care about putting the other terms (2017+ and Facelift) in the title for search purposes, I'd have just used kouki. It's concise and practical. I've used it for years and grown deaf to sound-related connotations (that's me). My using it helps expand the car guy community's vocabulary.

It's like asking, "What's your sex?" Pre-adolescents get squeamish but mature adults hear an objective question. Or the term FIFO. Sounded silly every time I heard it in Computer Programming 101 but it's used at the highest levels of academia and engineering professionals devoid of silliness. Takes a bit to mature to the use of niche words.

zenki and kouki is appropriate JDM term. MR2 and 240sx (Silvia) used the term to distinguish the difference. Some japanese publication already called MY 2017 kouki 86

Apparently, it's just the 2 chrome pieces.

Damnit. Figured something was up when it was that cheap. I guess they're doing the same thing they did with the old fender garnish chrome trim. Thanks for checking though.
