HPI floor bar (lap/submarine belt bar)
HPI came out with this rear bar to allow mounting of the lap belt and submarine belt anchor points without drilling into your chassis. It bolts under the back of the front seat seat and is mounted to the rear bolt location for your seat rail.
It's not legal for sanctioned races but an interesting design. Perhaps okay for autocross or something with low rollover risk? http://www.hpi.co.jp/cg/floorbar.html Last edited by mav1178; 04-17-2017 at 05:07 PM. |

Does it come in gold? |

Maybe the product isn't for the average racer, but perhaps a different design can be made in the future that is safer for racing.
In any case, mounted this on the project car. Not using it but was asked about fitment questions. |

So whats up with that seat rail?
Is that the factory slider modified to fit a side mount seat? |

If something isn't legal for sanctioning bodies thats a good indicator its not a good idea.

Considering the number of people allowing racers w/ bucket seats and stock 3-point belts (including SCCA Solo2), bringing up sanctioning bodies doesn't really mean a whole lot outside of professional racing w/ requirements for full safety. -alex |
