Get a fuelly account and look up similar FRS/BRZ and you can compare your ratings.

I think with no input on the gas pedal, the engine will try to stay at idle speed. If you are getting off the freeway for example and you push the clutch in to coast to a stop, you are spending that fuel needed to idle for the entire time you have the clutch in or are in neutral. If you leave it in gear however, the wheels turning connected to the engine will keep the engine spinning faster than idle so the engine will give no fuel. This saves fuel and brake pads
this is correct. most cars when coasting in gear faster than idle the feul injectors do not inject. this is most noticable if you drive a loud car, in my diesel truck with no cat or muffler and a single exhaust stack when i hit the brakes the engine gets dead silent... so putting it in neutral or pushing the clutch in will ruin your mpg.

I have averaged 31.5 when I drive at 70mph. However, driving between 45-60 is most effecient while keeping a light foot on the peddle when accelerating. Even with some spirited driving I have managed to get 90 miles on a quarter of a tank! Now I just took a trip from my mothers to my fathers during this Holiday week, and I did managed to get a whopping 121 miles on a quarter of a tank! pretty impressive if I do say so myself!

I do mostly city/traffic driving. Been averaging 26 mpg over the last few tanks. Best highway mpg was 35 (70mph for about 10 miles).

I get horrible gas mileage compared to most. My best tank was 32mpg (twice, out of 67 fuel ups). I typically average around 27mpg mixed (but mostly highway). Most of my trips are at minimum 15 miles one way.

I need to try driving like a grandma for a tank just to see if its me or the car.

I've recently changed office locations so now I'm about 70 hwy and 30 city. I have a 6AT. I hardly ever go sport mode as when I do my milage drops significantly and I mostly drive very mild unless I see a chance to ring her out safely. Which isn't much since I live in the city.

I tend to get between 24 to 26 mpg on average. Remember, that's me driving very mild and easy. If I go sport mode and start to get aggressive I get easily down to the 21's and 22's. I once went on a very long hwy drive 60 + miles right after I filled up at a station and got 37 mpg. That was just easy hwy driving mostly doing 65 to 75 mph. I have an Airaid intake and Perrin CBE too. I think the intake and CBE made my mpg go down too BTW.

Gas Mileage

Chances are its your commute and yourself. The engine is geared to use gas optimally, although.. if there was say a "hicup" in the air to fuel ratio or even the pump/s.. yes thats right there is more than one, then thats where the problem would be.
