the trd 86 only comes in black, so if color is as important to you as it is to me, it's worth $3k. i will never, ever own a black car... i also can't confirm/deny if the 86 trd has heated seats that the brz pp should have.

The brz is also black. Personally I prefer brighter colours but series yellow brzs are overpriced around me (northern Illinois) and red is non existent near me and WRB is also overpriced, but honestly I don't care about colors that much.

And they don't have heated seats but idrc, I like the cold.

Red it seems is non-existent everywhere. There are like 5 new, red, BRZs that show on auto trader.

Thankfully one is kind of near me, but I'm waiting to see if the 2020 brings any new colors.

Got mine last week. A Red 2019 BRZ bought in Nanaimo `BC Canada.

I went to look at cars, I had a bunch on my list and the BRZ was the first one I looked at. Love at first drive so I traded my pretty well perfect 2017 Fiesta with very low miles, for it.

I'm surprised at your prices, our dollar is well below the US one. I guess its to do with Japanese imports.

Got almost $11,000 for the Fiesta and took $3300 in bonus and cash incentives and walked away at just under $20,000.

So it was $29 and change in Canadian money and with all the taxes etc, about $33,000 out the door.

The exchange rate or Japanese imports has nothing do with the higher prices of our cars. They don't get cheaper for us when the dollar climbs and we actually have far fewer tariffs and taxes on imports than the US. If you apply exchange rate to prices you need to apply it to wages as well so in the end things still cost more.

It is really more of a simple economy of scale thing. In the US they sold 3,834 BRZs last year. Canada sales were only 482. The difference in volume means that they have to charge more here in order to make about the same profit levels.

Unfortunately this applies to just about everything we buy from cans of Coke to meals in restaurants. There just aren't enough of us to force prices down. Of course if prices went down so would wages so we just will never win.

I mean if you look at the exchange rate, the car in Canada should be quite a bit more that the US. I was surprised it was so little above the US price, and attribute that to our relationship with Japan.

Check going prices in YOUR region. Don't go by what some dude in California of Utah says.
From the looks of things that is a pretty good deal around New York city.
