So I ordered my legacy plates back in April and received the notice they'd arrived in the first week of August. Went to pick them up a few days later and it turned out they were misprinted (not centered because the system messed up what I chose), so got them re-ordered.

Called the DMV yesterday and was told it will likely take 4 months.

Assuming the same amount of time as the first round, it looks like 3.5-4 months turnaround. So mine should hopefully arrive end of November/beginning of December..

You paid the fee when you ordered. Otherwise you just pay each year as part of your registration

I got “IRACE 86” in the black legacy plates. My last name is Irace, which is convenient. My Ducat Monster’s plate says “IRACEDM”, which can be read ‘I raced m(them)’ or ‘I race DM(Ducati Monster) or ‘Irace(last name) DM(bike)’.

I see, so when I pick up they do not do any transfer fees and such? I just trade in old plates and leave?

For picking up process at DMV, did u have to pay anymore fees or just the ones you paid for online.

Just the ones online; nothing at the DMV that I can recall. When your registration renewal comes in the mail then you will have a personalized license plate renewal fee. If you just get the legacy plates, but don't get them personalized then it is a one time fee, so there won't be a renewal cost.

Correct, bring in BOTH of your old plates, your DL, your current registration card and pick up the new ones. You will be given your new plates, new month and year decals, and a new registration reflecting your new plates.

Kind of a funny story behind these plates. I'm from New England where the word wicked is used as an adjective and adverb for everything. Here in FL people think it's funny when I say wicked all the time. I got a vanity plate for my Gencoupe that read WIKD CAH, I ordered it in February but I totalled the cah in April. Then the plate came a couple days later. It took forever and the cah I got it for was gone.

We got a Camaro to replace the wrecked car and it got the plate. I drove it for a few weeks before I realized I hated it. My wife LOVED it. So I ended up driving the Prius a lot. Damned if I do, damned if I don't. My wife is from NY and it's funny that she got stuck with the WIKD CAH plate since she doesn't talk like that at all. So we decided to trade in the Prius and I got the FRS. I got the WICKD 86 plate to match the Camaro.

Wicked story. (Sorry, couldn't help myself)

We use to use that term in Philly during the 80s, but I've rarely heard it since. I thought it was a 80s thing, not a New England thing, but maybe you guys are just keeping it real.
